2018 European Tour
The 2018 European Tour is the 47th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 10th edition of the Race to Dubai. The Race to Dubai was won by Italian Francesco Molinari, who was also named Golfer of the Year. India's Shubhankar Sharma was named Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. Changes for 2018 There were changes to membership criteria with the reversal of some of the changes introduced for the 2017 season; the number of players gaining exemption from the final Race to Dubai standings reverted to the top 110 and the Access List was scrapped, largely replaced by a re-ranking system. The Race to Dubai points system was adjusted, with all prize money being converted into US dollars before translating into points (1 point = 1 dollar) having previously been calculated after converting into euro. Sam Horsfield
Sam Horsfield (born 8 October 1996) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Amateur career Horsfield has lived in the United States since he was five years old. He was selected for the 2015 Walker Cup at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club but withdrew two weeks before the event. It was later reported that he thought he may not have had the correct visa and was worried he would not be allowed to return to the United States after the event. He was runner-up at the 2016 Western Amateur. Horsfield turned professional in May 2017. Professional career Horsfield was the medalist at the 2017 European Tour Qualifying School to earn a place on the European Tour for 2018. Alexander Lévy
Alexander Lévy (; born 1 August 1990) is a French professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour. Lévy won the French Amateur Championship in 2009, and the French International Amateur Championship the next year. Turning pro in 2011, his first wins of the European Tour came in 2014 at the Volvo China Open and the Portugal Masters. Branden Grace
Branden John Grace (born 20 May 1988) is a professional golfer from South Africa who currently plays for LIV Golf. He formerly played on the European Tour, the PGA Tour, and the Sunshine Tour. In 2012, he became the first player in the history of the European Tour to win his first four European Tour titles in the same year. On 22 July 2017, Grace became the first man to record a sub-63 score in a major when he shot a 62 (8-under-par) in the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale Golf Club. Robert Rock
Robert Rock (born 6 April 1977) is an English professional golfer. He played on the European Tour from 2003 to 2022. He has won twice on the tour, the 2011 BMW Italian Open and the 2012 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship. He lost to Irish amateur Shane Lowry in a playoff at the 2009 3 Irish Open, but still collected the first prize of €500,000. Alexander Norén (born 12 July 1982) is a Swedish professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour and the European Tour. He has won ten tournaments on the European Tour, including the BMW PGA Championship, the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, the British Masters, HNA Open de France and the Nedbank Golf Challenge. Thomas Paul Fleetwood (born 19 January 1991) is an English professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and European Tour. He has won six times on the European Tour. Sébastien Gros
Sébastien Gros (born 8 November 1989) is a French professional golfer. Gros was born in Villeurbanne, France. He turned professional in 2011 and played on the Alps Tour. He won on the Alps Tour in 2012 and 2013. He began playing on the Challenge Tour and Asian Tour in 2014. At the end of 2014, he played all three stages of the European Tour Qualifying School: he finished 32nd, just missing out on a place on the main tour, but earned a place on the Challenge Tour for 2015. Christopher Samuel Paisley (born 24 March 1986) is an English professional golfer currently playing on the European Tour. In January 2018 he had his first win on the tour, the BMW SA Open. Amateur career Paisley played college golf at the University of Tennessee where he won two events. He played on the St Andrews Trophy team in 2008, the Palmer Cup and Walker Cup teams in 2009. Mikko Korhonen (born 23 July 1980) is a Finnish professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour. He won the 2018 Shot Clock Masters and the 2019 Volvo China Open. Bradley Dredge (born 6 July 1973) is a Welsh professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He has won twice on the tour, the 2003 Madeira Island Open and the 2006 Omega European Masters, both by 8 strokes. He also won the 2005 WGC-World Cup in partnership with Stephen Dodd.
