2018 Arizona State Sun Devils Football Team
The 2018 Arizona State Sun Devils football team represented Arizona State University in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by first year head coach Herm Edwards and played their home games at Sun Devil Stadium. They were a member of the South Division of the Pac-12 Conference. The Sun Devils finished the season 7–6, 5–4 in Pac-12 play to finish in second place in the South Division. They were invited to the Las Vegas Bowl where they lost to Fresno State. Herm Edwards
Herman Edwards Jr. (born April 27, 1954) is an American football coach and former cornerback who was most recently the head football coach at Arizona State. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons, primarily with the Philadelphia Eagles. Edwards was also a head coach in the NFL from 2001 to 2008 with the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs. Following the conclusion of his NFL coaching career, Edwards was a football analyst at ESPN from 2009 to 2017. He returned to coaching in 2018 when he was named the head coach of Arizona State's football team. As a player, Edwards is known for scoring the game-winning touchdown off a fumble recovery in 1978's Miracle at the Meadowlands. Antonio Durran Pierce (born October 26, 1978) is the linebackers coach for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League. He played college football for the University of Arizona. He was signed by the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent, and also played for the New York Giants. Early years Pierce played high school football at Paramount High School in Paramount, California. He played two years of football at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, California, before transferring to the University of Arizona. Khaylan Kearse-Thomas (born February 7, 1997) is an American football linebacker who plays for the Stuttgart Surge of the European League of Football. He played college football at Arizona State. Koron Crump (born May 10, 1994) is a gridiron football linebacker who is a free agent. After playing college football for Arizona State, he was signed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as an undrafted free agent in 2019.
