2018 Americas Rallycross Championship
The 2018 Americas Rallycross Championship is the first season of the Americas Rallycross Championship, a feeder championship to the FIA World Rallycross Championship representing North America. This championship can be seen as the spiritual successor to the Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship, which folded in early 2018. The season consists of four rounds across two categories; Supercar and ARX2. The season commenced on 27 May with the special round at Silverstone in the UK, and culminated on 30 September in Austin at the Circuit of the Americas. The 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy was the fifth season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship an auto racing championship recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) as the highest class of international rallycross. Johan Kristoffersson won the Drivers' Championship for the second season running during the World RX of the United States. The Citroën DS3 WRC is the World Rally Car built for the Citroën World Rally Team by Citroën Racing for use from the 2011 World Rally Championship season. It is based upon the Citroën DS3 road car, and replaced the highly successful Citroën C4 WRC. It was built to the new World Rally Car regulations for 2011, which were based upon the existing Super 2000 regulations, but is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine rather than the normally aspirated 2-litre engine found in Super 2000 cars. Development work on the car was carried out during 2010 by Citroën drivers Sébastien Loeb, Dani Sordo, Sébastien Ogier and test driver Philippe Bugalski, as well as sister Peugeot drivers Kris Meeke and Stéphane Sarrazin. Liam Doran (born 22 March 1987) is a British professional rallycross driver competing in the FIA World Rallycross Championship, Global RallyCross Championship, X Games, and European Rallycross Championship. He is the son of British rallycross driver and Lydden Hill Race Circuit owner Pat Doran. In his early life he attended Fulston Manor School in Sittingbourne. Having signed with Monster Energy in 2011 he has gone on to achieve an X Games Gold medal and numerous other accomplishments in various disciplines. Oliver Bennett
Oliver Roy Bennett (born 7 November 1992) is a rallycross driver from Bristol, United Kingdom. He is the co-founder of the Xite Energy drink company, and competes in the FIA World Rallycross Championship and Extreme E for the Xite Energy Racing team. Early career Bennett started his racing career competing in motocross from the age of 8, through to 18 when he competed in the European MX championship. An accident left him unable to continue competition on two wheels so he made the move to four wheels competing in Rallycross.
