2018 Ad Diriyah EPrix
The 2018 Ad Diriyah ePrix (formally the 2018 SAUDIA Ad Diriyah E-Prix) was a Formula E electric car race held at the Riyadh Street Circuit in the town of Diriyah, which is located north-west of the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh, on 15 December 2018 before a crowd of about 23,000 spectators. It was the first round of the 2018–19 Formula E Championship, the inaugural Ad Diriyah ePrix and the first Middle Eastern Formula E race.António Félix da Costa of the Andretti team won the 33-lap race from pole position. 2018–19 Formula E Championship
The 2018–19 FIA Formula E Championship was the fifth season of the FIA Formula E championship, a motor racing championship for electric vehicle, electrically-powered vehicles recognised by motorsport's governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), as the highest class of competition for electric Open-wheel, open-wheel racing cars. The 2018–19 season saw the introduction of the all-new Spark SRT05e, Gen2, second generation Formula E car, which boasted significant technological advances over the previous Spark-Renault SRT 01E chassis – its power output rose from 200 kW to 250 kW and top speeds rose to around 280 km/h (174 mph). The Spark SRT05E, also known as the Spark Gen2 (or the Spark Gen2EVO for the upgraded chassis set to be introduced in the 2020–21 season but eventually cancelled) is an electric formula race car designed for use in the FIA Formula E Championship. The car is the successor to the SRT01-e, and is constructed by Spark Racing Technology with assistance from Dallara. It has been used as the base car for all manufacturers and teams since the 2018-2019 FIA Formula E Championship. The Spark-Renault SRT_01E, also known as the SRT01-e (since the 2015–16 season) or the Spark Gen1 (after the introduction of the successive Gen2 chassis), was an electric formula race car designed for the inaugural season of Formula E, in 2014–15. The car was the result of a 10-month collaboration between Spark Racing Technology, McLaren Electronic Systems, Williams Advanced Engineering, Dallara and Renault. Mitchell William Evans (born 24 June 1994) is a New Zealand professional racing driver. He currently drives for the Jaguar TCS Racing team in Formula E.
