The 2018 AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour is a domestic professional beach volleyball circuit organized in the United States by the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) for the 2018 beach volleyball season. The 2018 AVP Tour calendar comprises a joint AVP- FIVB tournament, the "Gold Series" tournaments and the "Open" tournaments. The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) is the biggest and longest-running professional beach volleyball tour in the United States. Founded in 1983, the AVP is headquartered in Newport Beach, California. The AVP operates as a 3-tiered development system with AVPFirst, a youth program; AVPNext, a developmental circuit; and the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour itself. Aleksandrs Samoilovs
Aleksandrs Samoilovs (born April 6, 1985) is a beach volleyball player from Latvia. Samoilovs and teammate Mārtiņš Pļaviņš, with whom he partnered since 2004, represented Latvia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The duo defeated the number 2 seed, Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers, in their first-round game, in what announcers called "the biggest upset in Olympic beach volleyball history." Theo Brunner
Theodore Allan Brunner (born March 17, 1985) is an American professional beach volleyball player who is a member of the United States men's national A2 beach volleyball team and has also featured for the United States men's national A2 volleyball team. Playing career Youth and collegiate Brunner was born in Palo Alto, California, but raised in Ridgefield, Connecticut where he attended Ridgefield High School and played for the school team. After graduation, he enrolled at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In college, Brunner competed with the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos men's indoor volleyball team. Jake Gibb
Jacob "Jake" Spiker Gibb (born February 6, 1976) is an American professional beach volleyball player, who currently plays on the AVP Tour with Taylor Crabb as his partner. Gibb and Casey Patterson represented the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Previously, Gibb and Sean Rosenthal played together from 2006 to 2012. The duo represented Team USA at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. Personal life Gibb was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah, where he played golf and basketball. William Reid Priddy (born October 1, 1977), known as Reid Priddy, is an American volleyball player on the United States men's national volleyball team and Italian club Cucine Lube Civitanova. He has also played on the AVP tour from 2000 to 2006. As of 2009, Priddy has resumed playing on the AVP Tour. High school and personal life Priddy was born in Richmond, Virginia, to Ken and Sharon Priddy. He started playing volleyball after his family moved from Richmond to Florida, where he tried it in a summer-school P.E. class. Taylor Crabb (born January 26, 1992) is an American beach volleyball player who plays as a left-side defender with his partner Taylor Sander. He has won eight tournaments on the AVP Pro Tour, as well as one gold medal on the FIVB World Tour. Growing up in Hawaii in a volleyball-playing family, the sport was a big part of Crabb's childhood. He was a standout college indoor volleyball player for the Long Beach State 49ers, and was the 2013 collegiate National Player of the Year.
