''2018'' (also known as ''2018: Everyone is a Hero'') is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language survival drama film based on the severe 2018 Kerala floods that devastated Kerala. It is directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, who wrote the screenplay with Akhil P. Dharmajan, and stars Tovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Narain and Lal with an ensemble supporting cast. The film was announced on 16 October 2018 by Jude Anthany Joseph. Principal photography commenced on 27 May 2022. The film was shot in different parts of Kerala, as well as Tirunelveli and Hyderabad. The filming was wrapped up on 13 November 2022. Initially set to release on 21 April 2023, it eventually released on 5 May 2023. It grossed over at the box office, to emerge as the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all-time and one of the highest grossing Indian film of 2023. Jude Anthany Joseph (born Sijo Joseph) is an Indian film director, screenwriter and actor, who works in Malayalam film industry. His directorial debut was with ''Ohm Shanthi Oshaana'' in 2014, which won the Best Film with Popular Appeal and Aesthetic Value at the 45th Kerala State Film Awards. India has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film (formerly Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film) since 1957, a year after the incorporation of the category. The award is given annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The "Best Foreign Language Film" category was not created until 1956; however, between 1947 and 1955, the Academy presented a non-competitive Honorary Award for the best foreign language films released in the United States. Wrap (filmmaking)
Wrap, as used in the phrase "That's a wrap" has been used by directors since the early days of the film industry to signal the end of filming. Since the 1920s, filmmakers have been using this phrase when principal photography is concluded and the film is ready to go into post-production. At that point, it is traditional to hold a wrap party for the cast and crew of the film. This marks the end of the actors' collaboration with each other, the director, producer, and crew on the film (except for possible dubbing or pick-ups). However the leading cast members may be called in several months or years later to help promote the film when it is ready to be released. The term "wrap" is sometimes said to be an acronym for "Wind, Reel and Print", although this is disputed.
