2017–18 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (women's Handball)
The 2017–18 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (known as the '' K&H női kézilabda liga'' for sponsorship reasons) is the 67th season of the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, Hungarian premier Handball league. Teams As in the previous season, 14 teams played in the 2017–18 season. After the 2016–17 season, Mosonmagyaróvári KC SE and Kispest NKK were relegated to the 2017–18 Nemzeti Bajnokság I/B. They were replaced by two clubs from the 2016–17 Nemzeti Bajnokság I/B, Kecskeméti NKSE and Vasas SC. Nemzeti Bajnokság I (women's Handball)
The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, "National Championship"), also known as NB I, is the top level of the Hungarian football league system. The league is officially named OTP Bank Liga after its title sponsor OTP Bank. UEFA currently ranks the league 28th in Europe. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification rounds. The bottom two clubs are relegated to Nemzeti Bajnokság II, the second-level league, to be replaced by the winner and the runner up of the NB2. Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. The sport is usually played indoors, but outdoor variants exist in the forms of field handball, Czech handball (which were more common in the past) and beach handball. The Városi Sportcsarnok ( en, Municipal Sports Hall) is a multi-use indoor stadium in Békéscsaba, Hungary. Alba Fehérvár Kézilabda Club is a Hungarian women's handball team based in Székesfehérvár. Founded in 1968 by the merger of ''Máv Előre'' and ''VT Vasas'', the club achieved their biggest success in 2005, when they were crowned of the EHF Cup winners, after beating domestic rivals Győri ETO KC in the finals. Debreceni Vasutas Sport Club, commonly abbreviated DVSC, is a Hungarian women's handball club from Debrecen, that plays in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I. Budaörs (; german: Wudersch; hr, Jerša, or ; la, Vicus Teuto) is a town in Pest County, Budapest metropolitan area, Hungary. Location A suburb of Budapest, the town lies among the Buda and Csiki hills and the Tétény plateau in the Budaörs-basin.
