2017–18 Indian Arrows Season
The 2017–18 season is Indian Arrows' 4th competitive season in the top-flight of Indian football, I-league. Indian Arrows was formed in 2010 on the behest on then Indian team coach, Bob Houghton, with the main goal of nurturing young talent in India in the hope of qualifying for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. It was disbanded by AIFF in 2013 when their club sponsor, Pailan Group, could not financially support the group. It was revived again for 2017–18 season and fielded the team in 2017-18 I-League after the successful hosting of 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup to give more game time to U-17 world cup players and best talent from U-19 players who recently played in 2018 AFC U-19 Championship qualification. They will play in Goa and Delhi as their home grounds. Indian Arrows ended their I-League campaign on 27 February 2018 finishing last in the league but will not be relegated since it was formed as development side by AIFF. Indian Arrows
Indian Arrows (formerly known as Pailan Arrows) was an Indian developmental football club that competed in the I-League. The club was formed by the All India Football Federation in 2010, with a main goal of nurturing young Indian football talents. After disbanding in 2013, the project was revived as ''Indian Arrows'' in 2017. In September 2022, the technical committee of All India Football Federation decided to discontinue the participation of the Indian Arrows in the I-League because of the difficulty in fulfilling the AFC Licensing criteria. Instead, the funding was decided to invest in creating a new Elite Youth League in the country . 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup
The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup was the 17th FIFA U-17 World Cup, a biennial international football tournament contested by men's under-17 national teams. Organised by FIFA, the tournament took place in India between 6 and 28 October 2017, after the country was awarded the hosting rights on 5 December 2013. The tournament marked the first time India have hosted a FIFA tournament and the first Asian country to host U-17 World Cup since United Arab Emirates in 2013. The attendance for this World Cup was a record 1,347,133 surpassing China's record in 1985 with 1,230,976. The matches were played in six stadiums in six host cities around the country, with the final taking place at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. Sukhdev Singh (born 21 September 1991) born in Hoshiarpur, Punjab is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Mohun Bagan in the I-League. Career Minerva He made his debut for Minerva on 25 November 2017 in I-League match against Mohun Bagan at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana as he played full match as his team drew match 1-1. Girik Khosla (born 4 January 1995) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for I-League club Delhi. Career Born in Mumbai, Girik Khosla started his footballing journey with the youth setup of Mumbai FC where he captained the U14 and U17 teams before moving to the state team of Chandigarh. William Opoku
William Opoku Asiedu (born 1 April 1997) is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Nepal Super League club Birgunj United FC. Besides Ghana, he has played in England, Estonia, Nepal and India. Club career Opoku's career began in Ghana with Division One club Okyeman Planners.
