2017–18 FC Lokomotiv Moscow Season
The 2017–18 FC Lokomotiv Moscow season was the club's 26th season in the Russian Premier League, the highest tier of the Russian football league system. Lokomotiv Moscow also took part in the Russian Cup and also the Europa League. Lokomotiv also contested the Russian Super Cup. Lokomotiv's farm club was relaunched as ''Kazanka'' and participated in the Russian Professional Football League, the third highest division in the Russian football league system. FC Lokomotiv Moscow (''FC Lokomotiv Moskva'', russian: link=no, Футбольный клуб "Локомотив" Москва, ) is a Russian professional football club based in Moscow. The Russian Premier League (RPL; russian: Российская премьер-лига; РПЛ), also written as Russian Premier Liga, is the top division professional association football league in Russia. Sapsan Arena (russian: «Сапсан Арена») is a football stadium situated in Moscow, Russia. It hosts Kazanka Moscow, Lokomotiv Moscow's farm club, and Lokomotiv Moscow's youth team. It seats 10,000 people. History The stadium was built in 2009 and its initial capacity stood at 5000, all seated. It is the home stadium of the youth squad of Lokomotiv. The Russian Second League (russian: Первенство России II дивизиона ФНЛ), formerly Russian Professional Football League is the third level of Russian professional football.
