2017–18 Championnat National 2
The 2017–18 Championnat National 2 was the 20th season of the fourth tier in the French football league system in its current format. The competition was contested by 64 clubs split geographically across 4 groups of 16 teams each. The teams included amateur clubs (although a few were semi-professional) and the reserve teams of professional clubs. Teams On July 13, the FFF ratified the constitution of the competition, and published the groups as follows: * 48 clubs who were neither relegated or promoted from the 2016–17 Championnat de France Amateur groups. * 4 teams relegated from 2016–17 Championnat National (Épinal, Belfort, Sedan and CA Bastia). * 11 teams promoted from 2016–17 Championnat de France Amateur 2. Championnat National 2
The Championnat National 2, commonly known as National 2 and formerly known as Championnat de France Amateur (CFA), is a football league competition. The league serves as the fourth tier of the French football league system behind Ligue 1, Ligue 2, and the Championnat National. Contested by 64 clubs, the Championnat National 2 operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Championnat National and the Championnat National 3, the fifth division of French football. Seasons run from August to May, with teams in four groups playing 32 games each totalling 1280 games in the season. Most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played during weekday evenings. Play is regularly suspended the last weekend before Christmas for two weeks before returning in the second week of January. CA Bastia
Cercle Athlétique Bastiais or CA Bastia was a French football club from Bastia, Corsica. The team's highest point was playing in Ligue 2, the second tier of the French football league system, in 2013–14. Their historic home stadium was the Stade d'Erbajolo in Bastia, although they played their Ligue 2 home games in the Stade Armand Cesari, home stadium of the city's other professional team, SC Bastia. Étoile Sportive Paulhanaise is a football club based in Paulhan, France. Racing Club Pays de Grasse is a French association football club founded in 1959. Until 2022 they were known as Racing Club de Grasse. They are based in the town of Grasse and their home stadium is the Stade Jean Girard. Since the 2017–18 season, they play in the Championnat National 2.
