2017–18 Al-Ahli Saudi FC Season
The 2017–18 season was Al-Ahli's 42nd consecutive season in the top flight of Saudi football and 80th year in existence as a football club. They entered this season looking to rebound from a disappointing 2016–17 campaign, when they finished as runners-up in both the league and King Cup. Al-Ahli also participated in the King Cup, and both the 2017 and 2018 edition of the AFC Champions League. The season covered the period from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018. Al-Ahli Saudi FC
Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club ( ar, النادي الأهلي السعودي) is a Saudi Arabian professional football club based in Jeddah, that competes in the second division of Saudi Arabian football, following their relegation from the Saudi Professional League in the 2021–22 season. The club was founded in 1937. Domestically, Al-Ahli has won three Saudi Professional Leagues, holds record of 13 King's Cups, six Crown Prince Cups, one General League Shield, and one Super Cup. In international club football, they have won a record shared of 3 GCC Champions League and 1 Arab Club Championship. The first Saudi club combined the league and the King's Cup in the same season in 1968, and is the only club to do it twice - in 1978 and 2016. Yasser Abdullah Nasser Al-Mosailem ( ar, ياسر عبد الله ناصر المسيليم; born 27 February 1984) is a Saudi Arabian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Al-Ahli and the Saudi Arabian national team. Career Born in Al-Hasa, Al-Mosailem started his career in the youth setups of local club Hajer. On 11 November 2002, Al-Mosailem joined Al-Ahli for a reported fee of SAR200,000. Al-Mosailem was the third player to join Al-Ahli from Hajer following the transfers of brothers Misfer and Taisir Al-Jassim a couple of months earlier. Giannis Fetfatzidis ( el, Γιάννης Φετφατζίδης; born 21 December 1990) is a Greek professional footballer who plays as a winger for Italian club SPAL. Omar Al Somah ( ar, عمر السومة; born 28 March 1989) is a Syrian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Qatar Stars League club Al-Arabi, on loan from Saudi club Al Ahli, and the Syria national team. Taiseer Jaber Al-Jassim ( ar, تيسير جابر الجاسم, can also be spelled as Taisir Al-Jassim, born 25 July 1984) is a former Saudi Arabian professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Salman Al-Moasher ( ar, سلمان المؤشر; born 5 October 1988) is a Saudi Arabian footballer who plays as a winger for Pro League club Al-Ahli and the Saudi Arabia national team. Career Salman Al-Moasher started his career at Heraa in his hometown of Mecca. In 2005, he received offers from Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr and Al-Shabab.
