2017 Valencian Community Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2017 Valencian Community motorcycle Grand Prix was the eighteenth and final round of the 2017 MotoGP season. It was held at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on November 12, 2017. In the MotoGP class, Dani Pedrosa took the victory after overtaking Johann Zarco on the final lap, while Marc Márquez clinched his fourth premier class title and sixth overall with a third place finish after rival Andrea Dovizioso crashed out. The victory would prove to be Pedrosa's last in MotoGP, as well as his final podium finish. In the Moto3 class, this was the final race for both the Peugeot and Mahindra MGP3O chassis packages, as the teams that used those bikes, CIP, Ángel Nieto Team, and Redox PrüstelGP all switched to KTM for 2018. Andrea Dovizioso (born 23 March 1986) is an Italian former professional motorcycle racer. He raced with WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team for the 2022 season but announced his intended-retirement after the Misano round in September. Dovizioso was the 125cc World Champion, but is best known for his time with the Ducati Team in the MotoGP class, finishing championship runner-up to Marc Márquez for three consecutive seasons in , and . Esteve "Tito" Rabat Bergada (born 25 May 1989) is a Spanish motorcycle racer. He is best known for winning the 2014 Moto2 World Championship. Rabat then made the move to MotoGP in 2016 and spent five full-time seasons there, before moving to the Superbike World Championship in 2021. Rabat suffered serious leg injuries in August 2018 after falling in heavy rain during practice for the British round at Silverstone. He was hit by a closely following out-of-control machine. Cal Crutchlow (born 29 October 1985) is an English professional motorcycle racer who retired from regular competition after the 2020 season. He is contracted as a test rider for Yamaha Motor Racing, which he is expected to continue in 2022 and 2023. 2018 Moto3 Season
The 2018 FIM Moto3 World Championship was a part of the 70th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Joan Mir was the reigning series champion, but he did not defend his title as he joined Moto2. After winning at Sepang, Spanish rider Jorge Martín was crowned the 2018 Moto3 World Champion, having created an unassailable lead of 26 points over current runners-up Marco Bezzecchi.
