Ahal FK
Ahal Änew Football Club ( tk, Ahal Änew Futbol Kluby), or simply Ahal FC, is a Turkmen professional association football club based in the Änew, Ahal Province. Founded in 1989, the club played its first-ever top flight season in 1992. The club plays its home matches at the 20,000 seater Ashgabat Stadium. History During 1989–91, the club participated in the Soviet Second League. FC Ahal played in the top division of Turkmenistan in 1992, winning bronze medal, but the following year the team was disbanded. The returning season was 1998–99. In 2013, the team won Cup title, led by Ali Gurbani. In 2013 Turkmenistan Cup final team beat Altyn Asyr and won the trophy for the second time. In 2014 season the team began by winning the 2014 Super Cup of Turkmenistan, beating HTTU (4–2). Football Club Şagadam ( tk, Şagadam futbol kluby) is a Turkmen football club based in Türkmenbaşy, Balkan Region. The team compete in Ýokary Liga, the top division in Turkmenistan football league system. The club was founded in 1949 and home matches are played at Şagadam Stadium, their original home ground History The football club was founded in 1949 by the Complex of Oil Refineries in Krasnovodsk (Turkmen SSR). Prior to 1991, they had the name of DOSA. In 1992, until June, they were playing under the name Neftyanik and then – Hazar. In August 1993 the club was renamed ''Şagadam''. At the end of 2002 Şagadam FK was confirmed as champions of 2002 Ýokary Liga for the first time in its history. The team was led to its success under the guidance of head coach Kudrat Ismailov. The 2018 AFC Cup was the 15th edition of the AFC Cup, Asia's secondary club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Ashgabat or Asgabat ( tk, Aşgabat, ; fa, عشق‌آباد, translit='Ešqābād, formerly named Poltoratsk ( rus, Полтора́цк, p=pəltɐˈratsk) between 1919 and 1927), is the capital and the largest city of Turkmenistan. It lies between the Karakum Desert and the Kopetdag mountain range in Central Asia, near the Iran-Turkmenistan border.
