The 2017 Tianjin Open was a women's professional tennis tournament played on hard courts. It was the 4th edition of the tournament, and part of the 2017 WTA Tour. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International Tournaments was a category for professional tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. The winner of a WTA International adds 280 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2020 season, there were 32 tournaments, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,000 ($775,000 for Shenzhen, and $525,000 for Guangzhou and Hong Kong). Liu Fangzhou (; ; born 12 December 1995) is a Chinese tennis player. On 24 April 2017, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 127. On 16 June 2014, she peaked at No. 919 in the WTA doubles rankings. Sabine Katharina Lisicki (; born 22 September 1989) is a German professional tennis player. Lisicki turned professional in 2006, and her breakthrough came in 2009 when she reached the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Championships, and also won her first title on the WTA Tour, at the Family Circle Cup. In March 2010, she suffered an ankle injury at the Indian Wells Open that kept her out of competition for five months and saw her fall out of the top 200. Kristie Hyerim Ahn (born June 15, 1992) is an American former professional tennis player. She has won seven singles titles and two doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.
