2017 Speedway Grand Prix Of Sweden
The 2017 Teng Tools Swedish FIM Speedway Grand Prix was the seventh race of the 2017 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on August 12 at the G&B Stadium in Målilla, Sweden. Riders First reserve Peter Kildemand replaced Nicki Pedersen and second reserve Martin Smolinski replaced Greg Hancock. The Speedway Grand Prix Commission also nominated Linus Sundström as the wild card, and Kim Nilsson and Joel Kling both as Track Reserves. Results The Grand Prix was won by Poland's Bartosz Zmarzlik, who beat Antonio Lindbäck, Fredrik Lindgren and Maciej Janowski in the final. Lindbäck and Lindgren had top scored during the qualifying heats and then won each of the semi-finals, however the former was passed by Zmarzlik on the final bend of the decider. Janowkski took the lead in the overall standings after finishing fourth, while title rivals Jason Doyle and Patryk Dudek both failed to make the semi-finals. Målilla
Målilla () is a locality in Hultsfred Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden with 1,524 inhabitants in 2010. It is more commonly known as the temperature capital of Sweden due to records, both high and low, being set there. A Swedish record high temperature of +38 °C (100.4 °F) was set on June 29, 1947. This record is shared with Ultuna in Uppland. The lowest temperature recorded is −33.8 °C, one of the lowest ever recorded in southern Sweden. Being famous for the extremes in temperature, the middle of the town's main roundabout features a 15 metre high thermometer. Shortly after its inauguration in December 2000, it was hit by a car and the bulb had to be replaced. Målilla is further famous for motorcycle speedway. Patryk Dudek
Patryk Dudek (; born 20 June 1992) is a Polish motorcycle speedway rider who is a member of the Polish national speedway team. Career Dudek's father, Sławomir, was a professional rider and Patryk gained his speedway licence in 2008. Dudek won 2009 and 2010 Team U-19 European Champion and 2009 Individual Under-21 Polish Champion titles. In 2017, he won the silver medal during the 2017 Speedway Grand Prix, having accomplished this during his debut season in the Speedway Grand Prix series, which makes him the most successful SGP rookie ever. After finishing 12th during the 2020 Speedway Grand Prix season Dudek suffered a leg injury, which resulted in him missing the 2021 season. Matej Žagar (born 3 April 1983 in Ljubljana, Slovenia) is a Slovenian motorcycle speedway rider who was won two Individual Speedway European Champion titles in 2004 and 2008. Career In 2002, he won the 2002 Individual Speedway Junior European Championship and the following year made his debut in the Individual World Championship. Chris Holder
Christopher Robert Holder (born 24 September 1987 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian speedway rider currently riding for Lejonen in the Swedish Elitserien and for Apator Toruń in the Polish Speedway Ekstraliga. He became the Australian Individual Speedway Champion in 2008 and followed up with wins in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014 (he was runner up in 2009) as well as winning the Australian Under-21 Championship in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Niels Kristian Trochmann Iversen (, born 20 June 1982 in Esbjerg, Denmark) is an international motorcycle speedway rider. He was part of the Danish teams that won the Speedway World Cup in 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014. Early life Niels-Kristian Trochmann was born 20 June 1982 in Esbjerg, Denmark to Ann Marie and Flemming Iversen. Growing up with older brother Soren, Iversen decided he want to be a speedway rider. Martin Vaculík (born 5 April 1990) is a Slovak motorcycle speedway rider who is riding for the Stal Gorzów Wielkopolski in the Speedway Ekstraliga, Polish Speedway Ekstraliga. Tai Woffinden (born 10 August 1990) is a British motorcycle speedway, speedway rider.
