2017 PDC World Youth Championship
The 2017 PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship was the seventh edition of the PDC World Youth Championship, a tournament organised by the Professional Darts Corporation for darts players aged between 16 and 23. The knock-out stages from the last 64 to the semi-finals were played in Wigan on 6 November 2017. The final took place on 26 November 2017, before the final of the 2017 Players Championship Finals, which was shown live on ITV4. Australia's Corey Cadby was the defending champion after defeating Dutch player Berry van Peer 6–2 in the 2016 final, but he lost 6–3 to English player Josh Payne in the semi-finals. Belgium's Dimitri Van den Bergh became the new World Youth champion, by defeating Josh Payne 6–3 in the final. Prize money Qualification The tournament will feature 64 players. Butlins Resort Minehead is a holiday camp operated by Butlins, located in Minehead in Somerset, England. It opened in 1962 and remains in use today. Rusty-Jake Rodriguez
Rusty-Jake Rodriguez (born 24 December 2000) is a professional Austrian darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation events. In 2017, he was the inaugural winner of the JDC (Junior Darts Corporation) World Championship. Career Rodriguez entered PDC qualifying school in 2017. His best result was getting to the last 64 on day four. This was not good enough to get a PDC tour card. He won a PDC Development Tour event in Germany in 2017, as well as the WDF Europe Cup Youth Pairs Boys with Thomas Langer in the same year. Martin Schindler (born 16 August 1996) is a German professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Schindler won a PDC Tour Card at Qualifying-School (Q-School) in January 2017. He represented Germany along with Max Hopp at the 2017 PDC World Cup of Darts, reaching the quarter-finals, before losing to the Dutch pair of Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld. Harry Ward (born 13 June 1997 in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire) is a former professional English darts player who played in the Professional Darts Corporation events. Career He reached the final of the 2015 BDO World Youth Championships, losing 3–0 in the final to Colin Roelofs. In January 2019, Ward won a two-year PDC Tour Card by right on the first day of the event, beating Mark McGeeney 5–2 in the final. Stephen Brendan Lennon (born 25 November 1993) is an Irish professional darts player who plays in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career Lennon played county darts for Kilkenny and Kildare. Lennon has played professional darts since 2011. Ryan Meikle ( born 13 August 1996) is an English professional darts player who plays in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Rowby-John Rodriguez
Rowby-John Rodriguez (born 27 March 1994) is an Austrian professional darts player currently playing in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career In 2010, as a 16-year-old, Rodriguez won the Austrian National Championship by beating Franz Thaler 5–0 in the final. At the second event of Q School in January 2014 he stood one win away from joining the PDC but lost 5–3 to Gerwyn Price. Mike De Decker (born 15 December 1995) is a professional Belgian darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Ted Evetts (born 3 August 1997) is an English darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is the 2021 PDC World Youth Champion. Career Evetts plays for his local Super League team and also plays Men's County for Warwickshire as well as being signed on to Warwickshire Youth County. He is also a qualified chef. Kenny Neyens (born 13 January 1995) is a Belgian darts player playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events.
