Metropolitan FA
Metropolitan FA is a Puerto Rican association football club from the capital of San Juan that currently plays in the Liga Puerto Rico. The club plays its home matches at the Parque Reparto Metropolitano. History Metropolitan FA was founded in 2012 by Argentine Jorge Silvetti. In 2015 the team finished third in the Copa Excelencia which took place that year in lieu of a Puerto Rico Soccer League season. By the 2016 season the club was competing in the resurrected Puerto Rico Soccer League, the top tier of football on the island. After finishing in second place during both halves of the regular season, the team had the most combined points in the league and advanced directly to the final. The club won the league championship in the playoff by defeating Bayamón FC in the final at the Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium. The 2017 Puerto Rico Soccer League season would be the 9th season as Puerto Rico's top-division football league. League News *On January 31, 2017; At the headquarters of the Recreation and Sports Department, negotiations took place between Puerto Rico's top clubs and the Puerto Rican Football Federation (FPF) to outline the future of men's top football. *On February 22, 2017; The Puerto Rico Soccer League (PRSL) announced they will be celebrating their 3rd Cup of Excellence with 8 teams known to participate. The Cup of Excellence will begin from 28 to 30 April 2017 and end around June playing a single lap, carnival style, to save costs to teams. **Clubs(7/8) : Caguas Sporting FC, Ballista FC, FC Mayaguez, Bayamón FC, Club Deportivo Barbosa, and last years champion Metropolitan FA. Jorge Silvetti
Jorge Silvetti (born January 5, 1942) is an Argentinian-American architect and educator. Silvetti co-founded Machado Silvetti—a Boston-based firm known for unique works of architecture and urban design in the United States and abroad—in 1985 with Rodolfo Machado, where he remains a partner. He is the Nelson Robinson, Jr. Professor of Architecture, Emeritus at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where he has taught since 1975, and chaired the department of architecture from 1995 to 2002.
