Garryspillane GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Knocklong/Glenbrohane, County Limerick, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club was founded in 1952 and is almost exclusively concerned with hurling with footballers catered for by neighbouring Galbally. Location The club is located in the parish of Knocklong/Glenbrohane in south east County Limerick on the border with County Tipperary. The Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Lyons of Limerick County Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Limerick PIHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Limerick County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking intermediate clubs in the county of Limerick in Ireland. It is the second tier overall in the entire Limerick hurling championship system. The Limerick Premier Intermediate Championship was introduced in 2014 following a split in the existing Limerick Intermediate Hurling Championship. It was the fourth adult county championship to come into existence in Limerick. In its present format, the Limerick Premier Intermediate Championship uses a round-robin format with each team playing 7 matches (playing all 7 other teams once). The Limerick County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, Coiste Chontae Luimneach) or Limerick GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Limerick. The 2014 Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship was the inaugural staging of the Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Limerick County Board. The championship began on 18 April 2014 and ended on 25 October 2014. On 25 October 2014, Bruff won the championship after a 2-14 to 0-16 defeat of Croom in the final at FitzGerald Park, Kilmallock. Gaelic Grounds
The Gaelic Grounds, know for sponsorshop reasons as the TUS Gaelic Grounds, is the principal GAA stadium in the Irish city of Limerick, home to the Limerick hurling and football teams. It has a capacity of 44,023. History 9 October 1926 saw first steps taken towards creating the Limerick Gaelic Grounds as a GAA stadium of note. A farm containing was purchased at Coolraine on the Ennis Road for development as a sporting grounds. Two years later the new grounds officially opened with two junior hurling games. The first big effort to raise funds for the development of the grounds was in 1932, with the establishment of a development committee, whose remit was to level the pitch, providing sideline seating and erect a boundary wall. The 1950s saw crowds of up to 50,000 attending games in the grounds. 1958 saw a new stand being built at Páirc na nGael – it was the Old Hogan Stand from Croke Park.
