2017 Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne
The 69th edition of the Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne cycling Classic cycle races, classic was held on 26 February 2017. It was part of the 2017 UCI Europe Tour and ranked as a UCI race classifications, 1.HC event. The route was , starting and finishing in Kuurne. It was the second and concluding race of the Belgian ''opening weekend'', the year's first road races in Northwestern Europe, one day after 2017 Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Tiesj Benoot (born 11 March 1994) is a Belgian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Lotto–Soudal (2015–19) Benoot turned professional with the Belgian UCI World Tour team in 2015, after riding for the outfit in 2013 and 2014, and riding some races as a stagiaire in autumn 2014. Benoot made an instant impact in the professional ranks by placing fifth in his first Tour of Flanders. Later in the season he showed his abilities in stage races, finishing second overall behind Greg Van Avermaet at the 2015 Tour of Belgium. He also claimed three top-10 finishes in stages of the Critérium du Dauphiné. Benoot showed climbing ability at the 2017 Critérium du Dauphiné, where he finished 12th overall. ZdenÄ›k Å tybar (; born 11 December 1985) is a Czech former professional cyclist, who rode professionally in cyclo-cross and road bicycle racing between 2005 and 2024 for , the and . Oliver Naesen (; born 16 September 1990) is a Belgian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Considered a specialist of the one-day classics, he won the 2017 Belgian National Road Race Championships, as well as the Bretagne Classic in 2016 and 2018. He is the brother of fellow racing cyclist Lawrence Naesen. Arnaud Démare (born 26 August 1991) is a French professional road racing cyclist who rides for UCI WorldTeam . Oude Kwaremont
The Oude Kwaremont ( English: ''Old Kwaremont'') is a road in Kluisbergen, a municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The Oude Kwaremont, contrary to popular belief, is not the name of a hill, but the name of one of the cobbled roads leading up the Kluisberg hill. The Kluisberg is one of several hill formations in the Flemish Ardennes in the south of East-Flanders, close to the border with Wallonia. The climbing road is best known for its presence in many Flemish professional cycling races, such as the Tour of Flanders, E3 Harelbeke and Dwars door Vlaanderen. Characteristics The lower 600 m of the climb consist of a narrow asphalt road, the upper 1600 m are paved with cobblestones.
