The 2017 Indonesian Basketball League is the second season of the Starting5 as a promoter of the league. Pelita Jaya defeated Satria Muda Pertamina 3–1 in the final. This accomplishment was noteworthy as some of the team's best players had recently departed. NSH Mountain Gold Timika is a basketball team based in Timika, Papua (province), Papua, Indonesia. NSH Mountain Gold Timika is the first team from Papua to join in the Indonesian Basketball League, IBL Indonesia. Mountain Gold originally signed up as a new team for 2020 season's competition.
