The 2017 Indonesian Basketball League is the second season of the Starting5 as a promoter of the league. Pelita Jaya defeated Satria Muda Pertamina 3–1 in the final. The Indonesian Basketball League (IBL; id, Liga Bola Basket Indonesia) is the preeminent men's professional basketball league in Indonesia, founded by Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) in 2003. NSH Mountain Gold Timika is a basketball team based in Timika, Papua (province), Papua, Indonesia. NSH Mountain Gold Timika is the first team from Papua to join in the Indonesian Basketball League, IBL Indonesia. Mountain Gold originally signed up as a new team for 2020 season's competition. However, the new team slot was only available for two teams (Bali United & West Badit), so Mountain Gold decided to merge with NSH Jakarta. Stapac Jakarta is one of Indonesia's top basketball clubs. They have won 13 national championships, entering the finals of the top-tier domestic competition started from Kobatama and IBL, since its founding in 1986. Prawira Bandung is an Indonesian basketball club based in the city of Bandung, West Java province. It was founded by Lilian Wijaya in 1991 as Hadtex Indosyntec.
