2017 FIVB Volleyball World League
The 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League was the 28th edition of the annual men's international volleyball tournament played by 36 teams between 2 June and 8 July. The Group 1 Final Round was held in Curitiba, Brazil. In front of a crowd of 23,149 fans, France lifted the FIVB Volleyball World League trophy for the second time of their history, prevailing on an epic battle over hosts Brazil 3–2. This marked the fifth time in the last seven editions with Brazil reaching the final without successfully winning the gold medal. Canada wrapped up their best ever World League campaign by seizing the bronze medal (their first medal at an international FIVB event) after coming from behind for a 3–1 win over United States. Earvin N'Gapeth was elected the Most Valuable Player for the second time, after also being the MVP in 2015. ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, officially known for sponsorship reasons as Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, is a professional men's volleyball club based in Kędzierzyn-Koźle in southern Poland, founded in 1994. Renan Dal Zotto
Renan Dal Zotto (born July 19, 1960) is a Brazilian former volleyball player who competed in three editions of the Summer Olympics and currently head coach of Brazil men's national volleyball team. He was born in São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul. In 1980 he was part of the Brazilian team which finished fifth in the Volleyball at the 1980 Summer Olympics, Olympic tournament. He played five matches. Four years later he won the silver medal with the Brazilian team in the Volleyball at the 1984 Summer Olympics, 1984 Olympic tournament. He played all six matches. At the 1988 Games he was a member of the Brazilian team which finished fourth in the Volleyball at the 1988 Summer Olympics, 1988 Olympic tournament. He played all seven matches. As coach he worked mostly with clubs in Brazil, plus a season in Italy, all in the 1990s and 2000s. Topvolley Antwerpen
Topvolley Precura Schelde-Natie Antwerpen is a volleyball club from Antwerp, Belgium. Antwerpen plays in the Liga, the highest level of Belgian men's volleyball. The club has been present at this level since 2008. They ended 5th after the regular competition of the 2008-09 season, but still had to participate in the playdowns after they lost a double confrontation against 8th placed PNV Waasland. The club came into existence in 1995, after a merger between VC Zorgvliet Hoboken and First Antwerp Volley Team. Two years later, VC Zorgvliet Antwerpen promoted for the first time to the Liga. After some quite successful seasons and a participation in the 1998 CEV Cup, the club relegated in 2003. After five seasons at the second level, Antwerpen returned to the highest division. VfB Friedrichshafen Volleyball GmbH is a German professional men's volleyball club founded in 1969 and based in Friedrichshafen, southern Baden-Württemberg. Main stakeholder is VfB Friefdrichshafen e.V. The club plays in the German Bundesliga and the CEV Champions League. The team won the 2006–07 CEV Champions League title.
