VfB Friedrichshafen
VfB Friedrichshafen Volleyball GmbH is a German professional men's volleyball club founded in 1969 and based in Friedrichshafen, southern Baden-Württemberg. Main stakeholder is VfB Friefdrichshafen e.V. The club plays in the German Bundesliga and the CEV Champions League. The team won the 2006–07 CEV Champions League title. From 2005 to 2011 they won the German league seven times in a row. In total, VfB Friedrichshafen won the championship 13 times and the German cup 17 times. Just before the start of the 2020–21 season the city of Friedrichshafen announced the ZF Arena, home of VfB Friedrichshafen since 2004, is closed immediately due to possible rust in the roof structure. After being forced to train in small gyms and to swap home games with the opponents, VfB Friedrichshafen moved to Zeppelin Cat Hall A1 which is a hall of the Friedrichshafen fair. Mark Lebedew
Mark Lebedew (born 6 May 1967) is an Australian professional volleyball coach. He is the current head coach of VfB Friedrichshafen. Career Club In 2010, Lebedew took charge of Berlin Recycling Volleys, with whom he won three German Champion titles, in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In 2015, he led Berlin Recycling Volleys to the CEV Champions League bronze medal after defeating PGE Skra Bełchatów in a third place match (3–2). In 2015, he moved to Poland and led his team, Jastrzębski Węgiel, to the PlusLiga bronze medal in 2017. In 2018, he signed a contract with Warta Zawiercie. He finished in fourth place in the 2018–19 PlusLiga season, the highest ever finish in club's history. National team In 2017, Lebedew was appointed new head coach of the Australia national team. Dejan Vinčić
Dejan Vinčić (born 15 September 1986) is a Slovenian volleyball player who plays for German club VfB Friedrichshafen and the Slovenia national team. With Slovenia, he was the runner-up of the European Volleyball Championship three times, in 2015, 2019 and 2021. Career In August 2015, Vinčić was part of the Slovenian national team that won a gold medal in the 2015 European League. He received two individual awards for the Best Setter and the Most Valuable Player. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. CEV Champions League
The CEV Champions League is the top official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. The competition is organised every year by the European Volleyball Confederation. Formula (2018–19 to present) Qualification A total of 20 teams participate in the main competition, with 18 teams being allocated direct vacancies on the basis of ranking list for European Cup Competitions, and 2 teams from the qualification rounds. League round 20 teams take part in the League round where they are split in to 5 groups.
