2017 Evian Championship
The 2017 Evian Championship was played 14–17 September at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains, France. It was the 24th Evian Championship (the first 19 played as the Evian Masters), and the fifth as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. The event was televised by Golf Channel and NBC Sports in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom. Anna Nordqvist beat Brittany Altomare at the first hole of a sudden-death playoff, after the pair had tied on 204. The event was reduced to 54 holes after the first day's play was abandoned because of bad weather. Field The field for the tournament is set at 120, and most earn exemptions based on past performance on the Ladies European Tour, the LPGA Tour, or with a high ranking in the Women's World Golf Rankings. Choi Hye-jin ( ko, 최혜진; born 23 August 1999) is a South Korean professional golfer. Amateur career Choi represented South Korea at the 2014 Asian Games where she helped the team to a silver medal and finished fifth in the individual event. Kim Sei-young (born 21 January 1993), also known as Sei Young Kim, is a South Korean professional golfer. Kim plays on the LPGA of Korea Tour and the LPGA Tour. Kim In-Kyung, also called In-Kyung Kim and I. K. Kim (born 13 June 1988), is a South Korean professional golfer currently playing on the LPGA Tour. Amateur career Kim was a member of the Korean National Team in 2003 and 2004 and won three tournaments on the International Junior Golf tour. Kim Hyo-joo (; ; born 14 July 1995), also known as Hyo Joo Kim, is a South Korean professional golfer who plays on the LPGA of Korea Tour. Moriya Jutanugarn ( th, โมรียา จุฑานุกาล; ; born 28 July 1994) is a Thai professional golfer. In 2009, Jutanugarn became the first female to win the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy. Ariya Jutanugarn ( th, เอรียา จุฑานุกาล, , ; born 23 November 1995) is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the American-based LPGA Tour. She was born in Bangkok.
