Cristie Kerr
Cristie Kerr (born October 12, 1977) is an American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. She has 20 wins on the LPGA Tour, including two major championships, and over $19 million in career earnings. Kerr was the number one-ranked golfer in the Women's World Golf Rankings for three time periods in 2010. She is naturally left handed but plays golf right handed. Amateur career Kerr was born in Miami, Florida, and started playing golf at the age of eight. She had a successful amateur career, winning the 1994 Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship and the 1995 Women's Western Amateur. She was the 1995 American Junior Golf Association Junior Player of the Year. In 1996 she played in the Curtis Cup and was the low amateur at the U.S. Women's Open. Kingsmill Championship
The Pure Silk Championship was a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour, played in Williamsburg, Virginia. The 72-hole tournament was held on the par-71 River Course at Kingsmill Resort, set at in 2013 LPGA Tour, 2013. Previously known as the "Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill," the tournament was founded in 2003 LPGA Tour, 2003 and played for seven seasons. Women's Western Amateur
The Women's Western Amateur is an amateur golf tournament for women. It is organized by the Women's Western Golf Association, which also organized the Women's Western Open from 1930 to 1967. It is one of the oldest women's amateur tournaments in the United States, having been played since 1901. 2005 LPGA Tour
The 2005 LPGA Tour was a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world which took place from February through December 2005. The tournaments were sanctioned by the United States-based Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Total prize money for all tournaments was $45,100,000. Longs Drugs Challenge
The CVS/pharmacy LPGA Challenges was a 72-hole golf tournament for professional female golfers that was part of the LPGA Tour from 1996 through 2010. It was played at various sites in Northern California and was managed by the Bruno Event Team. In 2006 the tournament moved to its last location at the Blackhawk Country Club in Danville. In 1996 the tournament was known as the Twelve Bridges LPGA Classic. LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament
In professional golf, the term qualifying school is used for the annual qualifying tournaments for leading golf tours such as the U.S.-based PGA and LPGA Tours and the European Tour. A fixed number of players in the event win membership of the tour for the following season, otherwise known as a "tour card", meaning that they can play in most of the tour's events without having to qualify. They join the leaders on the previous year's money list/order of merit and certain other exempt players as members of the tour. Getting through the qualifying school of an elite tour is very competitive and most professional golfers never achieve it. There can be up to four stages to negotiate, each of them like a regular golf tournament with only a small number of players going on to the next stage.
