2017 Connecticut Sun Season
The 2017 WNBA season was the 19th season for the Connecticut Sun franchise of the WNBA. It was the 15th season for the franchise in Connecticut. The season tipped off on May 13. The Sun started the season slowly, posting a 1–5 record in May. However, they quickly turned this around going a combined 13–4 in June and July. A 7–2 record in August saw the Sun near the top of the Eastern Conference standings. The Sun finished in second place in the East, just one game back of the New York Liberty after going 0–2 in their final games in September. The Sun earned the 4th seed in the WNBA Playoffs, and a bye into the second round. In the Second Round, they lost to the Phoenix Mercury. Curt Miller
Curt Miller (born October 6, 1968) is an American basketball coach, currently the head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association, WNBA. He previously served as the head coach of the Connecticut Sun from 2016-2022 and Bowling Green State University from 2001–2012 and Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana University from 2012–2014, and spent one season as an assistant to Brian Agler with the Los Angeles Sparks. Assistant coaching career Miller served as an assistant coach at Colorado State University, Colorado State, helping the school to an 81-20 (.802) overall record during his three seasons there. 2017 Minnesota Lynx Season
The 2017 WNBA season of the Minnesota Lynx is their 19th season in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Lynx finished the 2016 season with a record of 28–6, finishing first in the Western Conference (and the league as a whole) and qualifying for the playoffs, before ultimately beating Los Angeles in the WNBA Finals to win their league-tying best fourth championship. The Lynx moved from their normal home, Target Center in Minneapolis, to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul for the 2017 season due to the renovation that would be taking place at Target Center. The 2017 WNBA season is the 18th season for the Indiana Fever of the Women's National Basketball Association. The Fever began play on May 14, 2017. The Fever started the season strong posting a 7–7 record in May and June. However the second half of the season was not as positive. The team finished 2–18 in the months of July August and September. 2017 Atlanta Dream Season
The 2017 WNBA season was the 10th season for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association. The team began its season on May 21, 2017 against the Chicago Sky, in its new interim home of McCamish Pavilion on the Georgia Tech campus. The Dream had a strong start to the season posting a 4–1 record in May. However, the team finished 1–6 in June, falling under .500. The team couldn't recover its form for the rest of the season finishing a combined 7–15 in the last three months of the season. Jasmine Thomas (born September 30, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Morgan Tuck (born April 30, 1994) is an American former professional basketball player. She played her first four WNBA seasons with the Connecticut Sun. Rachel Banham
Rachel Banham (born July 15, 1993, in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is an American former professional basketball player. Banham played guard for the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's basketball team, where she set a number of team records.
