2017 Campeonato Brasiliense
The 2017 Campeonato Brasiliense was the 42nd edition of the Campeonato Brasiliense, the main division of soccer of the Federal District (Brazil). The competition, which was organized by the Brasiliense Football Federation, was played between January 30 and May 7 by twelve teams from DF, Goiás and Minas Gerais. The championship awarded two places for the 2018 Copa do Brasil and the 2018 Copa Verde, as well as two places for the 2018 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D. Regulation The championship was played in four stages: qualifying round, quarter finals, semifinals and final. In the first phase, the twelve teams played each other in first leg games, totaling eleven rounds. The eight teams with the most points scored in the first round advanced to the quarter-finals, while the last two teams were relegated to the second division in 2018. The Brazilian Football Confederation ( pt, Confederação Brasileira de Futebol; CBF) is the governing body of football in Brazil. It was founded on Monday, 8 June 1914, as , and renamed Confederação Brasileira de Desportos in 1916. The football confederation, as known today, separated from other sports associations on 24 September 1979. Luziânia is municipality in the state of Goiás, Brazil. This city is a producer of agricultural products including soybeans and beans. Location Luziânia is located 68 km south of Brasília and is part of the area, called Entorno do Distrito Federal. Goiás () is a Brazilian state located in the Center-West region. Ceilândia
Ceilândia is an administrative region in the Federal District in Brazil. With about 398,374 inhabitants, it is the administrative region of largest population in the Federal District. History Ceilândia was created by the government in the 1970s to keep people from moving into Brasília and setting up invasions. The root of the name Ceilândia is "CEI" ( pt, Campanha de Erradicação de Invasões: Invasions Eradication Campaign). In 1969, after only nine years of existence, Brasília already had 79,128 people living in irregular occupations, out of a population of 500 thousand inhabitants in all the Federal District.
