The 2017 Bayamon Cup is the seventh edition of the Bayamon City Cup, a cup tournament for clubs in Puerto Rico organized by Bayamón FC. Puerto Rico FC
Puerto Rico FC was a professional football club based in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Founded in 2015, the team played in the North American Soccer League (NASL), the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. The team debuted in the 2016 fall season. The team played its home games at the Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium until the stadium was severely damaged by Hurricane Maria in September 2017. The team last played during the 2017 NASL season. History In June 2015, National Basketball Association (NBA) star Carmelo Anthony announced that he is bringing football back to Puerto Rico with a new North American Soccer League expansion franchise. Giuseppe Gentile
Giuseppe Gentile (born 4 September 1943) is a retired Italian triple jumper, who won a bronze medal at the 1968 Summer Olympics. Biography From 1962 to 1972 Gentile took part in 33 international competitions, including the 1968 and 1972 Summer Olympics. He won four international medals and six national titles: in the long jump (1968) and triple jump (1965, 1966, 1968, 1970, 1971). After finishing his sporting career, Gentile turned to acting. Sidney Adam Rivera (born November 15, 1993) is a professional soccer player who plays for United Premier Soccer League side New York Braveheart SC. Born in the United States, he represents Puerto Rico internationally. Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, Rivera moved to Hampton, New Jersey and played high school soccer at Saint Benedict's Preparatory School and North Hunterdon High School. Brian Bement (born July 2, 1993) is an American soccer player who plays for St. Louis Ambush of the Major Arena Soccer League. Career Bement played college soccer at Loyola University Chicago between 2011 and 2014. Puerto Rico FC Bement signed with Puerto Rico Football Club of the North American Soccer League on March 31, 2016. Following the regular season, PRFC took part in and won the inaugural Copa Luis Villarejo, earning the team a spot in the 2017 Caribbean Club Championship. Michael Anthony Ramos (born January 29, 1991) is a Puerto Rican international footballer who currently plays for the Tacoma Stars in the Major Arena Soccer League. Career College Ramos began his career at Walla Walla Community College before transferring to Seattle University where he made 17 appearances for the Redhawks and tallied two goals and five assists in 2011. After the 2011 season, he stepped away from the game for a couple years due to personal reasons. In 2014, Ramos decided to reenroll in school and attend Whitworth University. Michael Kafari (born October 30, 1991) is a Ghanaian footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder. Career College and Amateur Kafari played college soccer at the University of New Mexico between 2010 and 2013. While at college, Kafari appeared for Premier Development League side Austin Aztex in 2012. Tyler Rudy (born September 29, 1993) is an American former professional soccer player who played for the New England Revolution and Puerto Rico FC. Career College and Amateur Rudy played four years of college soccer at Georgetown University between 2011 and 2014. He had seven goals and 12 assists in 88 appearances for the Hoyas while helping them reach the College Cup Final in 2012.
