2017 BMW PGA Championship
The 2017 BMW PGA Championship was the 63rd edition of the BMW PGA Championship, an annual golf tournament on the European Tour, held 25–28 May at the West Course of Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey, England, a suburb southwest of London. Trailing the leader by seven strokes after three rounds, Alex Norén scored a final-round 62 to win by two shots from Francesco Molinari. 2017 European Tour
The 2017 European Tour was the ninth edition of the Race to Dubai and the 46th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. England's Tommy Fleetwood won the Race to Dubai. Spanish golfers collected the annual awards; Golfer of the Year was Sergio García, who won his first major, and Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year was Jon Rahm Changes for 2017 For the 2017 season, the European Tour created the "Rolex Series", a group of selected tournaments with a minimum purse of US$7 million. Seven tournaments were initially announced: the BMW PGA Championship, the Irish Open, the Scottish Open, the Italian Open and the three Final Series events – the Turkish Airlines Open, the Nedbank Golf Challenge and the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. David Howell (golfer)
David Alexander Howell (born 23 June 1975) is an English professional golfer. His career peaked in 2006, when he won the BMW Championship and was ranked in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking for a short time. He played in the Ryder Cup in 2004 and 2006. Career After training and competing at Broome Manor Golf Club, he became a professional golfer in 1995. He won the 1998 Australian PGA Championship, and the 1999 Dubai Desert Classic. He had no further wins for six years, but his form was nonetheless on a general upwards curve. He was tenth on the European Tour Order of Merit in 2004 and 2005 proved to be even better. Shane Lowry
Shane Lowry (born 2 April 1987) is an Irish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. His notable achievements include winning the 2019 Open Championship, the Irish Open as an amateur in 2009, and the 2015 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Branden Grace
Branden John Grace (born 20 May 1988) is a professional golfer from South Africa who currently plays for LIV Golf. He formerly played on the European Tour, the PGA Tour, and the Sunshine Tour. In 2012, he became the first player in the history of the European Tour to win his first four European Tour titles in the same year. On 22 July 2017, Grace became the first man to record a sub-63 score in a major when he shot a 62 (8-under-par) in the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale Golf Club. Ross Daniel Fisher (born 22 November 1980) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour, where he has won five times, including the 2009 Volvo World Match Play Championship at Finca Cortesin Golf Club in Spain. Bradley Dredge
Bradley Dredge (born 6 July 1973) is a Welsh professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He has won twice on the tour, the 2003 Madeira Island Open and the 2006 Omega European Masters, both by 8 strokes. He also won the 2005 WGC-World Cup in partnership with Stephen Dodd. Biography Dredge was born in Tredegar. He turned professional in 1996. Nino Bertasio
Nino Bertasio (born 30 July 1988) is an Italian professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and is currently attached to the Gardagolf Country Club. Professional career After turning professional in 2011, he joined the Alps Tour. His first win on that tour came in 2014 at the Open St. Francois Region Guadeloupe, followed a week later by another win at the Asiago Open; he went on to win the Order of Merit and qualify for the Challenge Tour. Scott Jamieson (born 28 November 1983) is a Scottish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Amateur career Jamieson was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He spent four years playing amateur golf on a scholarship at Augusta State University. Kiradech Aphibarnrat (; born Anujit Hirunratanakorn, 23 July 1989) is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the Asian, European, and PGA Tours. Amateur career In both 2003 and 2004, Aphibarnrat won his age group at the Junior World Golf Championships. Johan Carlsson (golfer)
Johan Gustav Carlsson (born 29 August 1986) is a Swedish former professional golfer. Carlsson turned professional in 2011. He played on the Nordea Tour and Nordic Golf League. In 2012, he finished second in the Nordic Golf League Order of Merit, to earn one of five places on the Challenge Tour in 2013. Carlsson won his first Challenge Tour event in September 2013 at the Kazakhstan Open. He finished 2013 in fifth place in the Challenge Tour standings, graduating to the European Tour for 2014.
