2016–17 SuperLega
2016–17 SuperLega is the 72nd season of the Italian Championship (highest level of Italian Volleyball League) organized under the supervision of Federazione Italiana Pallavolo. This season is composed of 14 teams, two more than the last season. Biosì Indexa Sora and Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia are the new additions to the league. The Super Cup preceded the regular season on 24-25 September. Azimut Modena won the Super Cup for the second consecutive year. Super Cup (Pre-season) Four teams participated in Italian Super Cup. Porto Ravenna Volley
Porto Ravenna Volley was a historical volleyball club from the city of Ravenna in Emilia-Romagna. Ravenna founded by a group of businessmen and lovers inspired by Giuseppe Brusi, it landed in A1 at the end of the eighties, continuing a tradition that makes the city one of the "cradles" of Italian volleyball. Micah Christenson
Micah Makanamaikalani Christenson (born May 8, 1993) is an American professional volleyball player. He is part of the US national team, and is a bronze medalist at the Olympic Games Rio 2016 and the 2018 World Championship, the 2014 World League and the 2015 World Cup winner. At the professional club level, he plays for Zenit Kazan. Personal life Christenson was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Robert and Charlene Christenson. His parents both attended the University of Hawaii at Hilo, where his father, Robert, played basketball and his mother, Charlene, won three volleyball national championships and was named a two-time All-American. His sister, Joanna, played volleyball at Southern Utah University. Dragan Stanković
Dragan Stanković ( sr-cyrl, Драган Станковић, born 18 October 1985) is a Serbian volleyball player, a member of Serbian national team and Italian club Modena Volley, a participant of the Olympic Games London 2012, bronze medalist of the World Championship, European Champion 2011, medalist of World League. In 2020 Stanković changed the Federation of origin, playing with the Italian sporting nationality from the 2020-2021 season.
