Nemzeti Bajnokság I (women's Handball)
The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, "National Championship"), also known as NB I, is the top level of the Hungarian football league system. The league is officially named OTP Bank Liga after its title sponsor OTP Bank. UEFA currently ranks the league 28th in Europe. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification rounds. The bottom two clubs are relegated to Nemzeti Bajnokság II, the second-level league, to be replaced by the winner and the runner up of the NB2. Békéscsabai Előre Női Kézilabda Sport Egyesület is a Hungarian women's handball club from Békéscsaba, that plays in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, after having been promoted in 2006. Since they are sponsored by EUbility Group, the official name of the team is EUbility Group-Békéscsabai Előre NKSE. History The birth of the team dated back to 1973, when multi-sports club Békéscsabai Előre Spartacus took over the local team ''Kötöttárugyár'', and thus it became one of the departments of the club. The team have promoted to the top level league first in 1980, and two years later they achieved their greatest success up to date, having won silver medal in the Hungarian championship and reaching the quarterfinals of the IHF Cup (predecessor of EHF Cup). Siófok KC
Siófok Kézilabda Club is a Hungarian women's team handball team from Siófok, that currently play in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I. They have competed in lower divisions until 2006, when they have won the third-tier championship and gained promotion to the Nemzeti Bajnokság I/B. That time a businessman, János Fodor took over the club, and with the support of the local government, he guaranteed the financial background to fulfil the club's long-term plans. In May 2009, SKC received a surprise request from the Hungarian Handball Federation to replace the financially struggling Tajtavill-Nyíradony and join the top level championship. Siófok met all demands and unexpectedly started the 2009–10 season in the NB I. Despite being newcomers, the team performed well and finished in the respectable seventh position.
