2016–17 Kosovo Basketball Superleague
The 2016–17 Kosovo Basketball SuperLeague was the 23rd season of the Kosovo Basketball Superleague. The season started on 8 October 2016 and ended on 24 May 2017. Sigal Prishtina won its thirteenth title. Teams KB Rahoveci has been promoted to the league after winning 2015–16 Kosovo Basketball First League. 2015–16 Kosovo Basketball Superleague
The 2015–16 Kosovo Basketball Superleague season was the 22nd season of the Kosovo Basketball Superleague, the highest professional basketball league in Kosovo. The season started on 3 October 2015 and ended on 18 May 2016. Two days before the new season, Kastrioti decided to leave the league due to financial problems so the league will remain with 7 teams for this season. Sigal Prishtina was the defending champion. Rahovec
Rahovec ( sq-definite, Rahoveci) or Orahovac ( sr-Cyrl, Ораховац), is a List of cities in Kosovo, town and Municipalities of Kosovo, municipality located in the District of Gjakova in western Kosovo. According to the 2024 census, the town of Rahovec has 13,642 inhabitants, while the municipality has 41,777 inhabitants. Etymology The name of the town and municipality is of Serbian language, Serbian origin and is derived from the Proto-Slavic language, Proto-Slavic word ''orěhъ'', meaning nux (English: Nut (fruit), nut). KB Drita
KB Drita is a basketball club based in Gjilan, Kosovo (''Gjilan'' is the Albanian name of the town). Created in 1958, the club won the Basketball Superleague of Kosovo in 1996. KB Drita also has a women's club. History The club was formed in 1958 with the name "Drita" which means "light" in the Albanian language. The name was taken from other sports clubs in the city. Drita won the Kosovo Superleague against Prishtina in 1997. In 2024, Drita relegated to the Kosovo Second League after losing against Grapeland in the play-out. 2016–17 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2016–17 FIBA Europe Cup was the 2nd season of the FIBA Europe Cup, a European basketball club competition organised by FIBA Europe. The season began on 18 October 2016, with the regular season, and concluded on April 25, 2017, with the second leg of the Finals. Nanterre 92 was crowned FIBA Europe Cup champions after defeating Élan Chalon. Format changes The regular season phase 1 will be joined by 38 teams, 26 will qualify directly and the other 12 will come from the Basketball Champions League qualifying rounds. KB Ylli, known as Golden Eagle Ylli for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Theranda, Kosovo. The club currently plays in the Kosovo Basketball Superleague. Its fan club is called Xhebrailat. History KB Ylli is one of the oldest basketball clubs in Kosovo. It was founded in 1975. The club is known for its fans who support their club in especially in home games at 13 Qërshori sports hall. Their home matches are known for the fantastic atmosphere created by "Xhebrailat". ''Ylli'' means "star" in English.
