2016 Ýokary Liga
The 2016 Turkmenistan Higher League (Ýokary Liga) season is the 24rd season of Turkmenistan's professional football league. It runs between March and December 2016. Altyn Asyr are the defending champions from the 2015 campaign. Altyn Asyr were crowned champions for the third time in their history beating Balkan with 23 points. Football Club Altyn Asyr ( tk, link=no, Altyn Asyr futbol kluby), also known as Altyn Asyr Ashgabat or simply Altyn Asyr, which translates to "Golden Century", is a Turkmen football club based in Ashgabat. Founded in 2008, the club competes in the Ýokary Liga, the top tier of Turkmen football. It has remained there ever since, winning the Turkmenistan Higher League championship eight times in a row (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021). Sport Toplumy Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Daşoguz, Turkmenistan. It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as the home stadium for FC Daşoguz. The stadium holds 10,000 people. History The sports complex, which occupies a total area of over 13 hectares, opened in 2010. There are spectator stands which are designed for 10,000 people, as well as, treadmills laid around the football field for athletes. The sports complex offers facilities for various sports. It features an indoor swimming pool, rooms for volleyball, basketball, boxing and Turkmen national wrestling göreş. Also, there are open areas for mini-football, volleyball, basketball courts and two tennis courts. There is a sportswear and souvenir shop and a hotel with 50 seats for athletes and guests. FC Balkan Botevgrad ( bg, ФК Балкан Ботевград, FK Balkan Botevgrad) is a Bulgarian football club, playing in the city of Botevgrad.
