The 2016 Rally Mexico (formally the 13º Rally Guanajuato México) was the third round of the 2016 World Rally Championship. The race was held over four days between 3 March and 6 March 2016, and was based in León, Guanajuato, Mexico. Volkswagen's Jari-Matti Latvala won the race, his 16th win in the World Rally Championship. The 20th stage of the rally (Guanajuato) was the longest stage in the world championship for 30 years (excluding the 'competitive sections' of the Safari Rally) at in length. The 2016 World Rally Championship was the 44th season of the World Rally Championship, an auto racing championship recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) as the highest class of international rallying. Teams and drivers competed in thirteen rounds—starting with the Rallye Monte Carlo in January and finishing with Rally Australia in November—for the World Rally Championships for Drivers and Manufacturers. Sébastien Ogier started the season as the defending drivers' champion. His team, Volkswagen Motorsport, were the defending manufacturers' champions. Mikko Markkula (born 3 January 1981) is a Finnish people, Finnish rally (sports), rally co-driver. Rally career Mikko Markkula began his Rallying, rally career in 2001, co-driver, co-driving for several drivers in the World Rally Championship. From 2007 World Rally Championship, 2007 to 2011 World Rally Championship, 2011, he was the co-driver of Juho Hänninen. Teemu Suninen (born February 1, 1994) is a Finnish rally driver. Suninen was driving for Malcolm Wilson's M-Sport WRT in WRC between 2017 and 2021. His manager is Timo Jouhki. Rally career Suninen won the WRC-3 class in the 2014 Rally Finland and 2015 Rally Italia Sardegna driving a Citroën DS3 R3T, and won the WRC-2 class in the 2015 Wales Rally GB driving a Škoda Fabia S2000. Jipocar Czech National Team
Jipocar Czech National Team is a Czech motor racing team, which runs the WRC campaign of Martin Prokop. The team debuted in 2010 and will appear as fully eligible to score WRC manufacturer points team from 2013 Rally Sweden. The origins of the team can be traced back to the years when Prokop was racing in the support WRC series – Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) and Production World Rally Championship (PWRC). The team appeared as Czech Ford National Team in 2010. The team and Prokop raced in SWRC with Ford Fiesta S2000. Martin Prokop (born 4 October 1982) is a Czech rally driver. He won the Junior World Rally Championship in the 2009 season. Career After competing in the Czech Rally Championship for four years, Prokop debuted in the World Rally Championship at the 2005 Monte Carlo Rally, finishing ninth in the Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) category. Raigo Mõlder (born 25 March 1982) is an Estonian rally co-driver. He was the co-driver of 2019 World Rally Champion Ott Tänak from 2014 to 2016.
