2016 PDC World Youth Championship
The 2016 PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship was the sixth edition of the PDC World Youth Championship, a tournament organised by the Professional Darts Corporation for darts players aged between 16 and 23. The knock-out stages from the last 64 to the semi-finals were played in Wigan on 16 October 2016. The final took place on 27 November 2016, before the final of the 2016 Players Championship Finals, which was shown live on ITV4. Max Hopp was the defending champion after defeating Nathan Aspinall 6–5 in the 2015 final, but he lost in the second round to fellow German Martin Schindler. The final was contested between Dutch player Berry van Peer and Australia's Corey Cadby, with Cadby winning 6–2. Prize money Qualification The tournament will feature 64 players. Butlins Minehead
Butlins Resort Minehead is a holiday camp operated by Butlins, located in Minehead in Somerset, England. It opened in 1962 and remains in use today. It was known as Butlin's Minehead until 1987, and as Somerwest World from then until 1999, when it reopened as Butlins Minehead Resort. History In the winter of 1961, Billy Butlin began work on creating a holiday camp in Minehead. The site was selected because of its flatness, good rail links, and proximity to the town and sea. The site was not without its problems, however, including flooding. In order to solve this, a trench was excavated around the site and an earth wall constructed. The trench later became the site's boating pond. The site opened to the public on 26 May 1962, the construction having cost £2 million. Jeffrey De Zwaan
Jeffrey de Zwaan (born 26 March 1996) is a Dutch professional darts player who plays in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career De Zwaan progressed through to the last 16 of the 2014 World Masters, where he lost 3–0 to Glen Durrant. He won a two-year PDC Tour Card in 2015 by defeating Prakash Jiwa 5–1 in the final round. Dimitri Van Den Bergh
Dimitri Van den Bergh (born 8 July 1994) is a Belgian professional darts player who currently competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is a two-time World Youth Champion and the 2020 World Matchplay champion, after beating Gary Anderson 18–10 in the final, in his first time competing in the Matchplay. Career BDO In 2013, Van den Bergh won the British Teenage Open by beating Billy Longshaw 3–0 in the final. Rowby-John Rodriguez
Rowby-John Rodriguez (born 27 March 1994) is an Austrian professional darts player currently playing in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career In 2010, as a 16-year-old, Rodriguez won the Austrian National Championship by beating Franz Thaler 5–0 in the final. At the second event of Q School in January 2014 he stood one win away from joining the PDC but lost 5–3 to Gerwyn Price. However, after all four events had been played Rodriguez had done enough to finish ninth on the Q School Order of Merit and earn a two-year tour card. His first PDC major was the UK Open where he was knocked out 5–1 by Tony Randall in the first round. Josh Payne (born 10 December 1993) is an English darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation events. Career Payne won his first title in 2013 at a PDC Challenge Tour event by beating Rowby-John Rodriguez 4–3 in the final. He also qualified for the Gibraltar Darts Trophy and beat Wayne Jones 6–2, before losing 6–1 to Dave Chisnall in the second round despite averaging 100.50. Adam Hunt (born 21 August 1993) is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation events. Career Hunt began competing in PDC events in 2011 and won his first tournament in his second month, beating Josh Jones 4–2 in the final of the opening youth tour event of the year. Steve Lennon
Stephen Brendan Lennon (born 25 November 1993) is an Irish professional darts player who plays in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career Lennon played county darts for Kilkenny and Kildare. Lennon has played professional darts since 2011. He first won a tournament in the Ireland Players Championship, beating Stephen Byrne 6–1 in the Final. In 2016, he made it to the Final of Finnish Masters, beating Dennis Nilsson. Career In 2014, Kirk reached the last 64 in two of the six UK Open qualifiers to enter the event in the first round stage. He beat Conan Whitehead 5–4 and Gerwyn Price 5–2 to face 16-time world champion Phil Taylor in the third round. Matthew Francis Dean Reynolds (born 21 July 1992) is a Welsh former professional darts player. Career Reynolds' first Development Tour title came in 2014 by defeating Max Hopp 4–2. He also won the 16th event by edging past Josh Payne 4–3. Reynolds beat Ryan de Vreede 5–4 to claim the 2015 French Open title.
