2016 Oklahoma State Cowboys Baseball Team
The 2016 Oklahoma State Cowboys baseball team represents Oklahoma State University during the 2016 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Cowboys play their home games at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium as a member of the Big 12 Conference. They are led by head coach Josh Holliday, in his fourth season at Oklahoma State. Previous season The 2015 Oklahoma State Cowboys baseball team notched a 38–20 (14–8) regular season record and finished second in the Big 12 Conference standings. The Cowboys reached the 2015 Big 12 Conference baseball tournament championship game, where they fell to Texas. Oklahoma State received an at-large bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and was selected as one of the sixteen Regional hosts. Josh Holliday
Joshua S. Holliday (born September 14, 1976) is an American college baseball coach and former professional player in Minor League Baseball. Currently the head coach of the Oklahoma State Cowboys baseball team, he was hired to this position prior to the 2013 season. In 2014, Holliday was the Big 12 Conference Baseball Coach of the Year as OSU claimed the conference regular season championship. Before becoming head coach of the Cowboys, Holliday played college baseball for OSU while attending as a student. He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1999, for whom he played two seasons in the minor leagues. He then returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach and subsequently coached as an assistant for NC State, Georgia Tech, Arizona State and Vanderbilt. Eck Stadium is a baseball stadium in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It is located on the south side of 21st Street between Hillside and Oliver on the campus of Wichita State University in northeast Wichita. Hammons Field is a minor league baseball stadium located in Springfield, Missouri, with a capacity of 7,986 plus approximately 2,500 general admission seating.
