2016 Mid-Season Invitational
The 2016 Mid-Season Invitational was the second event of the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), a ''League of Legends'' tournament by Riot Games. It took place from March 4 to March 15, 2016, in Shanghai Oriental Sports Center, Pudong, Shanghai, China. The participants were 6 winning teams of the Spring Seasons in their respective regions: 5 teams from North America (NA LCS), Europe ( EU LCS), China ( LPL), South Korea (LCK), Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau ( LMS) and a team from Wildcard regions (Brazil, CIS, Japan, Latin America, Oceania, Southeast Asia) that won the Mid-Season International Wildcard Invitational (IWCI). SK Telecom T1 from South Korea won their first MSI title after defeating Counter Logic Gaming from North America 3–0 in the final. League Of Legends
''League of Legends'' (''LoL''), commonly referred to as ''League'', is a 2009 multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games. Inspired by '' Defense of the Ancients'', a custom map for ''Warcraft III'', Riot's founders sought to develop a stand-alone game in the same genre. Since its release in October 2009, ''League'' has been free-to-play and is monetized through purchasable character customization. The game is available for Microsoft Windows and macOS. In the game, two teams of five players battle in player-versus-player combat, each team occupying and defending their half of the map. League Of Legends European Championship
The ''League of Legends'' EMEA Championship (LEC) is the professional ''League of Legends'' esports league run by Riot Games in the EMEA ( Europe, the Middle East and Africa) region, in which ten teams compete. Each annual season of play is divided into two splits, spring and summer, both consisting of nine weeks of round-robin tournament play, which then conclude with play-off tournaments between the top six teams. At the end of the season, the top performing teams qualify for the annual ''League of Legends'' World Championship. The LEC represents the highest level of ''League of Legends'' play in the EMEA. With the exception of some touring events, all games of the LEC are played live at Riot Games' studio in Adlershof, Berlin, Germany. Zaqueri Black (born September 8, 1992), better known by his in-game name Aphromoo, is an American professional '' League of Legends'' player who is the support for FlyQuest. Aphromoo won the 2018 Spring Split MVP award, the first time it had gone to a support player. Trevor Hayes, better known as Stixxay, is an American professional ''League of Legends'' player for Golden Guardians. Stixxay started his League of Legends professional career as the starting ADC for CLG's Challenger NA team CLG Black and substitute ADC for Misfits. In the 2015 Spring Challenger Series, CLG Black and Stixxay finished 2–8. In November 2015 he was elevated to the main team, replacing Peter "Doublelift" Peng as bot laner. Choi Jae-hyun ( ko, 최재현), better known as huhi, is a South Korean professional ''League of Legends'' player for Golden Guardians of the LCS. Career Huhi joined his first major team in North America when he became a member of Counter Logic Gaming in 2015.
