The 2016 Mid-American Conference football season was the 71st season for the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and was part of the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision
The NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A, is the highest level of college football in the United States. The FBS consists of the largest schools in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). As of 2022, there are 10 conferences and 131 schools in FBS. College football is one of the most popular spectator sports throughout much of the United States. The top schools generate tens of millions of dollars in yearly revenue. Top FBS teams draw tens of thousands of fans to games, and the ten largest American stadiums by capacity all host FBS teams or games. Since July 1, 2021, college athletes have been able to get paid for the use of their image and likeness. Taylor Moton (born August 18, 1994) is an American football offensive tackle for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Western Michigan. He was drafted by the Panthers in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Early years Moton attended Okemos High School in Okemos, Michigan. He played football, basketball and ran track. College career Moton played at Western Michigan from 2012 to 2016. During his career he set a school record with 52 career starts. Professional career Moton received an invitation to the Senior Bowl and played offensive tackle for the North who lost 15-16 to the South. Jon'Vea J'Qyay Johnson (born December 23, 1995) is an American football wide receiver who is a free agent. He played college football at the University of Toledo. Johnson has also been a member of the Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Montreal Alouettes, and Memphis Showboats. Early years Johnson attended West Side Leadership Academy, and was coached by his father in football. Mason Schreck
Mason Schreck (born November 4, 1993) is an American football tight end for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Buffalo. Amateur career Schreck attended Medina High School in Medina, Ohio where he played both basketball and football. Schreck played primarily as a quarterback at Medina and threw for 667 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior. He was recruited by college football programs including Ohio State, Iowa, South Florida, Cincinnati, North Carolina State, Northwestern and Bowling Green but ultimately only received offers from Toledo and Buffalo. John Keenoy (born February 26, 1997) is an American football center who is a free agent. He played college football at Western Michigan. High school career Keenoy attended East Kentwood High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He did not have many college offers coming out of high school and was recruited to Western Michigan by P. J. Fleck. College career Keenoy was an early enrollee at Western Michigan as a freshman and allowed 25 pressures and four sacks in 2015.
