Mason Schreck
Mason Schreck (born November 4, 1993) is an American football tight end for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Buffalo. Amateur career Schreck attended Medina High School in Medina, Ohio where he played both basketball and football. Schreck played primarily as a quarterback at Medina and threw for 667 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior. He was recruited by college football programs including Ohio State, Iowa, South Florida, Cincinnati, North Carolina State, Northwestern and Bowling Green but ultimately only received offers from Toledo and Buffalo. In 2012 Schreck signed a letter of intent to play at Buffalo where Jeff Quinn recruited him to play tight end. After redshirting as a freshman at the University at Buffalo in 2012, Schreck caught a total of six touchdown passes from Joe Licata and Tyree Jackson between 2013 and 2016. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. Sun Newspapers was formed as a chain of weekly newspapers serving Northeast Ohio. Prior to a major reorganization in 2013, the chain consisted of 11 weekly newspapers serving 49 different communities in Greater Cleveland. Tyree Jackson
Tyree Jackson (born November 7, 1997) is an American football tight end for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He played college football as a quarterback at Buffalo. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Buffalo Bills in 2019. He played for the DC Defenders of the XFL in 2020. Early years Jackson attended Mona Shores High School in Norton Shores, Michigan where he was the starting varsity QB all four years of high school. Joe Licata (born November 16, 1992) is an American football coach and former quarterback. He played college football at Buffalo. He was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2016. Early years Licata attended Williamsville South High School in Williamsville, New York, where he played both football and basketball. As a basketball player, he set the New York State Public High School Athletic Association record for career three-point field goals made with 343. He set the school's career record for passing yards, and was named ''Buffalo News'' Player of the Year in 2010. Licata received scholarship offers to play college football for Syracuse, Akron and Buffalo in addition to interest from other schools. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section). Jeff Quinn
Jeff Quinn (born September 26, 1962) is an American football coach. He was formerly an assistant coach at the University of Notre Dame. Quinn served as the head football coach at the University at Buffalo from 2010 to 2014. He was the 24th head coach in University at Buffalo football history. He replaced Turner Gill who left for Kansas following the 2009 season. Quinn served as interim head coach at Central Michigan University in 2006 and at the University of Cincinnati in 2009, following the resignation of Brian Kelly in both instances. Playing career Quinn graduated from Elmhurst College in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in education. At Elmhurst, he played both offensive line in football and wrestled as a heavyweight. The Toledo Rockets football team is a college football program in Division I FBS, representing the University of Toledo. The Rockets compete in the Mid-American Conference.
