The 2016 LFA Super Taça is the 1st staging of the LFA Super Taça. A cup played in a single game between the two best teams in the country. Participants are classified through two main competitions: Liga Futebol Amadora Primeira Divisão and Taça 12 de Novembro. AS Ponta Leste
AS Ponta Leste is a professional football club based in Dili, East Timor. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Timor-Leste in the Primeira Divisão. The club's most successful season came in 2016 in which the team won the 2016 Taça 12 de Novembro after beating Assalam FC 1–0 in the final, as well as the Super Taça which they won against league champions Benfica Laulara 2–1. Since then however the team has yet to win any further competitions. Maliana
Maliana is a city in East Timor, 149 kilometers southwest of Dili, the national capital. It has a population of 22,000. It is the capital of the Districts of East Timor, district of Bobonaro District, Bobonaro and Maliana Subdistrict, and is located just a few kilometers from the border with Indonesia. The LFA Super Taça or the ''LFA Super Cup'' is an East Timorese football (soccer), football championship contested by the winners of Liga Futebol Timor-Leste and the Taça 12 de Novembro. In the event that a team wins both Liga Futebol Timor-Leste Primeira Divisão and the Taça 12 de Novembro, the runners up of the Taça 12 de Novembro will play against the winner of Liga Futebol Amadora.
