The Independence Cup ( sq, Kupa Pavarësia) is an annual friendly football tournament held in Albania on 28 November to commemorate Albanian Independence Day Flag Day ( sq, Dita e Flamurit or ''Festa e Flamurit''), or Independence Day, is celebrated every 28 November as a holiday in Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and the Albanian diaspora. Armenian Cup
The VBET Armenian Cup ( hy, Հայաստանի Անկախության Գավաթ) is the main football cup competition of Armenia. In its original form as the Armenian Cup, it started in 1939, when Armenia was a republic of the Soviet Union. It served as a qualification tournament for the Soviet Cup, and it was not disputed by Armenian teams in the Soviet League pyramid. Independence Cup (Bangladesh)
Independence Cup is a cup competition in men's association football. The competition started in 1972 and is run by the Bangladesh Football Federation, which is responsible for all types of competitive matches in the country. The teams from the country's Bangladesh Premier League (football), premier league and other clubs compete in the tournament. Brazil Independence Cup
The Brazil Independence Cup was an international football tournament held in Brazil, from 11 June to 9 July 1972, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Brazilian Declaration of Independence. It was called the ''Minicopa'' by the Brazilians and the final was between Brazil and Portugal, in the Maracanã Stadium. Brazil won 1–0, with Jairzinho scoring in the 89th minute. Brazil no longer had Pelé but still had Tostão, Jairzinho and Rivelino, the later two also played in the 1974 FIFA World Cup, in West Germany. Despite Portugal's quality results and team, including Benfica players such as Eusébio, Jaime Graça, José Henrique, Humberto Coelho, Rui Jordão, and Toni, the team missed the World Cup 1974 and 1978 qualifying matches, so this tournament was their best result until the 1984 European Football Championship. Independence Cup (Malta)
The Independence Cup was a football competition that took place in Gozo, Malta. The cup holders in 2010 were Victoria Hotspurs who won the cup after beating Sannat Lions 7–0 in the 2009 final at the newly refurbished Sannat Ground. This competition was played on a knock-out basis between the clubs of the First Division. The first Independence Cup took place in the season 1964–1965 — that is the same year that Malta gained its independence. Generally the final was held on the Independence Day – that is 21 September. Format Six teams of the First Division were chosen by lot to participate in the preliminary round. The winning three teams would join the remaining team and would participate in the semi-finals of the competition. Zambian Cup
According to records from the RSSSF, there were many association football cup competitions organized in Zambia since 1962, some of which are the Independence Cup, the Zambian Challenge Cup (both organized in 1961), the Champion of Champions Cup (organized in 1974) and Zambian Coca-Cola Cup, the latter which began in 2001. These competitions are either inactive or were played no more as of 2009. 1997 Pepsi Independence Cup
The 1997 Pepsi Independence Cup was a quadrangular ODI cricket tournament held in May 1997 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the independence of India. It featured the national cricket teams of New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the hosts India. The tournament was won by Sri Lanka, which defeated Pakistan in the best-of-three finals.
