The 2016 Gagarin Cup playoffs of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) began on February 21, 2016, with the top eight teams from each of the conferences, following the conclusion of the 2015–16 KHL regular season. Playoff seeds After the regular season, the standard 16 teams qualified for the playoffs. The Western Conference regular season winners and Continental Cup winners are CSKA Moscow with 127 points. Avangard Omsk are the Eastern Conference regular season winners with 106 points. Metallurg Magnitogorsk (russian: Металлург Магнитогорск) is a professional ice hockey team based in Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia. They are members of the Kharlamov Division of the Kontinental Hockey League. Alexander Salák (born January 5, 1987) is a Czech professional ice hockey goaltender. He is currently an unrestricted free agent who most recently played for Djurgårdens IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Alexander Vladimirovich Yeryomenko (russian: Александр Владимирович Ерёменко; born 10 April 1980) is a Russian former professional ice hockey goaltender who most notably played for Dynamo Moscow in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Playing career Alexander Eremenko started his pro career in 1999 with the Russian hockey team THK Tver. He played from 2001 to 2005 for the HC Dynamo Moscow in the RSL. Mikko Koskinen (born 18 July 1988) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender for HC Lugano of the National League (NL). Koskinen was drafted in the second round, 31st overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders.
