2016 CAFA U-19 Championship
The 2016 CAFA U-19 Championship was the inaugural edition of the CAFA Junior Championship#Under-19 Men, CAFA U-19 Championship, the triennial international youth football championship organised by Central Asian Football Association for the men's under-19 national teams of Central Asia. Uzbekistan hosted the tournament from 6 to 9 August 2016. A total of six teams played in the tournament, with players born on or after 1 January 1997 eligible to participate. Uzbekistan national under-20 football team, Uzbekistan emerged as the inaugural champions of the first-ever CAFA tournament by defeating the Kyrgyz Republic 1–0 in the final match. Participating teams Initially, all six CAFA members were set to participate in the tournament. Tashkent
Tashkent (, uz, Toshkent, Тошкент/, ) (from russian: Ташкент), or Toshkent (; ), also historically known as Chach is the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan. It is the most populous city in Central Asia, with a population of 2,909,500 (2022). It is in northeastern Uzbekistan, near the border with Kazakhstan.
