2016 Bethlehem Steel FC Season
The 2016 season is Bethlehem Steel FC's inaugural season of competitive soccer – its first season in the third division of American soccer and its first season in United Soccer League. Steel FC compete in the league's Eastern Conference. Steel FC's affiliation with the Philadelphia Union of MLS has prevented the team from participating in the U.S. Open Cup competition. Bethlehem Steel FC
Philadelphia Union II is an American professional soccer team based in Chester, Pennsylvania competing in MLS Next Pro. Founded in 2015 as Bethlehem Steel FC, the team is the official affiliate of the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer. The team competed for five seasons in the USL Championship (the first three as Bethlehem Steel FC) before going on hiatus from competition during the 2021 season. The club's current colors are navy blue and gold. New York Red Bulls II is an American professional soccer team based in Montclair, New Jersey. They are the reserve team of the New York Red Bulls and play in MLS Next Pro, the third tier in the American soccer pyramid. History Red Bull New York II were founded on January 21, 2015, when the New York Red Bulls acquired the rights to start a USL club. Red Bulls II competes in the second tier of American soccer and serves as a reserve side for the first team as well as a developmental stage for young prospects and academy players. James Chambers, born 14 February 1987 in Dublin, is an Irish former professional footballer who played for Shelbourne, Waterford United, Drogheda United, Shamrock Rovers (2 spells) and St Patrick's Athletic (2 spells) in Ireland, Solihull Moors in England, Hamilton Academical in Scotland and Bethlehem Steel in the United States. Penn FC (formerly the Harrisburg City Islanders) was an American professional soccer team based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in 2003, the team most recently played in the USL Pro, the second tier of the United States soccer league system. Samir Badr (born April 2, 1992) is an American soccer player who last played for Bethlehem Steel FC of the United Soccer League. He has previously played for El-Hodood of the Egyptian Premier League, Oklahoma City Energy, as well as the FC Porto and D.C. United academy systems. Youth career Prior to joining D.C. United and F.C. Porto's academy systems, Badr played select soccer with the Bethesda Road Runners, a premier soccer organization in Bethesda, Maryland. Badr also played high school soccer at Robinson Secondary School, where he helped the Rams reach the state semifinals.
