2016 Bethlehem Steel FC Season
The 2016 season is Bethlehem Steel FC's inaugural season of competitive soccer – its first season in the third division of American soccer and its first season in United Soccer League. Steel FC compete in the league's Eastern Conference. Current roster Transfers In Out Loan in Loan out Competitions Bethlehem Steel FC compete in USL, which is the third tier of the American soccer pyramid. Steel FC's affiliation with the Philadelphia Union of MLS has prevented the team from participating in the U.S. Open Cup competition. The decision to make affiliated "farm teams" ineligible for the U.S. Open Cup was decided for the 2016 iteration of the tournament. Philadelphia Union II is an American professional soccer team based in Chester, Pennsylvania competing in MLS Next Pro. Founded in 2015 as Bethlehem Steel FC, the team is the official affiliate of the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer. The team competed for five seasons in the USL Championship (the first three as Bethlehem Steel FC) before going on hiatus from competition during the 2021 season. The club's current colors are navy blue and gold. James Chambers, born 14 February 1987 in Dublin, is an Irish former professional footballer who played for Shelbourne, Waterford United, Drogheda United, Shamrock Rovers (2 spells) and St Patrick's Athletic (2 spells) in Ireland, Solihull Moors in England, Hamilton Academical in Scotland and Bethlehem Steel in the United States. Samir Badr (born April 2, 1992) is an American soccer player who last played for Bethlehem Steel FC of the United Soccer League. He has previously played for El-Hodood of the Egyptian Premier League, Oklahoma City Energy, as well as the FC Porto and D.C. United academy systems. Youth career Prior to joining D.C.
