The 2016 All-SEC football team consists of American football players selected to the All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) chosen by the ''Associated Press'' (AP) and the conference coaches for the 2016 Southeastern Conference football season. The Alabama Crimson Tide won the conference, beating the Florida Gators 54 to 16 in the SEC Championship. Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts was voted the AP SEC Offensive Player of the Year. 2016 Southeastern Conference Football Season
The 2016 Southeastern Conference football season was the 84th season of SEC football and took place during the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The season began on September 1 with Tennessee defeating Appalachian State on the SEC Network. This is the fifth season for the SEC under realignment that took place in 2012 adding Texas A&M and Missouri from the Big 12 Conference. The SEC is a Power Five conference under the College Football Playoff format along with the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Big 12 Conference, the Big Ten Conference, and the Pac-12 Conference. The SEC consists of 14 members: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt; and is split up into the Western and Eastern divisions, with the champion of each division meeting in Atlanta to compete for the SEC Championship on December 3. Martez Ivey (born July 25, 1995) is a professional gridiron football offensive tackle for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Florida. High school career Ivey attended Apopka High School in Apopka, Florida. In his sophomore year, Ivey helped protect quarterback Zack Darlington as Apopka went on a 13–2 record, and won the 2012 FHSAA Class 8A state title over Cypress Bay. Braden Smith (born March 25, 1996) is an American football offensive tackle for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Auburn.
