2015–16 America's Cup World Series
The second America's Cup World Series were held between 2015 and 2016 in the lead up to the 2017 America's Cup. The series was won by Land Rover BAR and confers two points towards the 2017 Louis Vuitton Cup. The runner up was Oracle Team USA which confers one point toward the next competition. Dean Barker (born 8 April 1973) is a New Zealand yachtsman. He is best known internationally for his participation in America's Cup yacht races. Early life and family Barker was born in 1973 in Takapuna, New Zealand. Barker's father is the New Zealander Ray Barker of the Barkers Clothing retail chain. Dean Barker was educated at Westlake Boys High School. Barker married former New Zealand field hockey representative Mandy Smith in February 2004. Francesco "Checco" Bruni (born 11 April 1973) is a professional sailor from Italy, together with James Spithill, helmsman of Luna Rossa during the America's Cup 2021. He is the brother of the sailor Gabriele Bruni with whom he teamed up in 49er regattas during the 2000 Summer Olympics held in Sydney, Australia. Biography He has competed in the Summer Olympics three times, all in different classes. He finished 12th at the 1996 Olympics in a Laser, 11th at the 2000 Olympics in a 49er and 7th at the 2004 Olympics in the Star class. Nathan James Outteridge (born 28 January 1986) is an Australian sailor, a resident of Lake Macquarie. Career highlights Olympics :2008 – Beijing Olympics 5th, 49er (with Ben Austin) :2012 – London Olympics 1st, 49er (with Iain Jensen ) :2016 – Rio Olympics 2nd, 49er (with Iain Jensen ) He is most famous for winning a gold medal at the London Olympics in the 49er class, along with Iain Jensen. Royal Swedish Yacht Club ( sv, Kungliga Svenska Segelsällskapet, KSSS), is the largest and oldest yacht club in Sweden and one of the five oldest in the world, formed 15 May 1830. KSSS is also the oldest yacht club in Continental Europe. Activities include racing, training, education, squadron sailing, match racing and club activities. Adam Minoprio (born 19 June 1985) is a New Zealand sailor. He is the youngest winner of the NZ Optimist Nationals at 11 years of age in 1997. Won the New Zealand P Class Tanner Cup in 2001.
