2015 WAFL Season
The 2015 WAFL season was the 131st season of the various incarnations of the West Australian Football League The West Australian Football League (WAFL) is an Australian rules football league based in Perth, Western Australia. The league currently consists of ten teams, which play each other in a 20-round season usually lasting from March to September ... (WAFL). The season began on 20 March 2015 and concluded on 27 September 2015 with the 2015 WAFL Grand Final between and at Domain Stadium. Subiaco won the match by 66 points, recording their second consecutive premiership and 13th overall. For the first time since 1994, the finals series was based on a top-5, rather than the top 4 system that has been used since 1931, with the exception of 1991–1994. 2014 WAFL Season
The 2014 WAFL season was the 130th season of the various incarnations of the West Australian Football League (WAFL). The season began on 22 March 2014 and concluded on 21 September 2014 with the 2014 WAFL Grand Final. West Perth entered the season as reigning premiers after defeating East Perth by 49 points in the 2013 WAFL Grand Final at Patersons Stadium. The 2014 season was the first to feature Western Australia’s professional AFL clubs West Coast and Fremantle engage in direct alignments with East Perth and Peel Thunder respectively. Lathlain Park
Lathlain Park (also known as Mineral Resources Park under ground sponsorship arrangements) is an Australian rules football ground, located in Lathlain, an inner-eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Since its opening in 1959, it has been the home ground for the Perth Football Club of the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Since 2019 it has been the administrative and training headquarters of professional Australian Football League (AFL) club the West Coast Eagles. Naming rights The venue was known as Lathlain Park until 2003 when the naming rights were sold to Eftel, an internet company, for a period of five years or more. Jay Van Berlo
Jay van Berlo (born 18 September 1988) is an Australian rules footballer, who formerly played for the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He currently plays for the West Perth Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Originally from the Whitfords Junior Football Club, he made his WAFL league debut for West Perth in mid-2007. He had shoulder surgery prior to the 2008 season, after which he played in every game and was awarded the 2008 Breckler Medal as West Perth's best and fairest player. Fremantle then drafted van Berlo in the 2009 Rookie Draft with their fifth selection, number 62 overall. Aaron Black (born 25 December 1992) is an Australian rules footballer currently playing for the West Perth Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). WAFL career Black made his league debut for West Perth in round 16 of the 2010 season and was a member of the 2013 premiership team. He made his state debut for Western Australia in 2013. Joondalup () is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, approximately north of Perth's central business district. It contains the central business district of the regional City of Joondalup and acts as the primary urban centre of Perth's outer northern suburbs. Arena Joondalup, known as HBF Arena under a commercial naming rights arrangement, is a multi-purpose sports complex in Joondalup, Western Australia, located on 35 ha of parkland approximately 25 km north of Perth. It was officially opened in 1994. An $11 million indoor aquatic centre, including a 50 m 10-lane competition pool, was completed in 2000. The West Perth Football Club, nicknamed the Falcons, is an Australian rules football club located in Joondalup, Western Australia. West Perth competes in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW) and is the oldest existing Australian rules football club in Western Australia. The Swan Districts Football Club, nicknamed the Swans, is an Australian rules football club playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). The club is based at Bassendean Oval, in Bassendean, an eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The club was formed in 1932, and joined the then-Western Australian National Football League (WANFL) in 1934, acting as a successor to the Midland Junction Football Club, which had disbanded during World War I, in the Perth Hills region. Subiaco Football Club
The Subiaco Football Club, nicknamed the Lions and known before 1973 as the ''Maroons'', is an Australian rules football club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW).
