Jay Van Berlo
Jay van Berlo (born 18 September 1988) is an Australian rules footballer, who formerly played for the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He currently plays for the West Perth Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Originally from the Whitfords Junior Football Club, he made his WAFL league debut for West Perth in mid-2007. He had shoulder surgery prior to the 2008 season, after which he played in every game and was awarded the 2008 Breckler Medal as West Perth's best and fairest player. Fremantle then drafted van Berlo in the 2009 Rookie Draft with their fifth selection, number 62 overall. After missing the first half of the season due to a stress fracture injury, he returned to West Perth for two reserves and two senior matches before he was elevated to Fremantle's senior list as a nominated rookie. West Perth Football Club
The West Perth Football Club, nicknamed the Falcons, is an Australian rules football club located in Joondalup, Western Australia. West Perth competes in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW) and is the oldest existing Australian rules football club in Western Australia. Originally located at Leederville Oval, the team was relocated in 1994 to Arena Joondalup, a sports complex in the northern suburbs of Perth. West Coast Eagles
The West Coast Eagles are a professional Australian rules football club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club was founded in 1986 as one of two expansion teams in the Australian Football League (AFL), then known as the Victorian Football League. The club plays its home games at Perth Stadium and has its headquarters at Lathlain Park. The West Australian Football Commission wholly owns the West Coast Eagles and the Fremantle Football Club, the AFL's other Western Australian team. Nathan Van Berlo
Nathan van Berlo (born 6 June 1986) is a former Australian rules football player who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by the club with pick 24 in the 2004 National Draft. He was the captain of the Adelaide Football Club from 2011 until 2014. His younger brother, Jay van Berlo, played 32 matches in four years for . Van Berlo has Dutch heritage, and his parents were born in New Zealand. AFL career Van Berlo made his debut in 2005 aged just 18, playing 11 games in the season and averaging just over seven disposals a game. He became a regular the following season, missing five matches due to a broken collarbone but returning to play out the season. Subiaco Oval (; nicknamed Subi) was a sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia, located in the suburb of Subiaco. It was opened in 1908 and closed in 2017 after the completion of the new Perth Stadium in Burswood.
