2015 UCI Africa Tour
The 2015 UCI Africa Tour was the 11th season of the UCI Africa Tour. The season began on 14 January with the Tour d'Egypte and ended on 20 December with the GP de Youssoufia. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wears the UCI Africa Tour cycling jersey. Mekseb Debesay of Eritrea is the defending champion of the 2013–14 UCI Africa Tour. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. Azzedine Lagab (born 18 September 1986) is an Algerian road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI Continental team . During his career he won medals in Algerian national championships, in African and Arab cycling championships as well as at the All Africa Games and the Pan-Arab Games. Career 2006–2009 As a youngster, Lagab took part in the Tour de l'Espoir, a stage race within his own country for young and talented riders. He finished in second place in the first stage of this race with the finish line in Bordj Bou Arreridj. Hichem Chaabane ( ar, هشام شعبان; born 10 August 1988 in Blida) is an Algerian former professional road cyclist. He represented his nation Algeria at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Rafaâ Chtioui (born 26 January 1986) is a Tunisian road bicycle racer who last rode for UCI Continental team . As a junior in 2004, Chtioui finished second in the junior road race world championships. He was beaten by Roman Kreuziger in a two-man sprint after Chtioui established a breakaway on the final descent of the race.
