2015 Svenska Cupen in bandy had its playoff in the weekend of 26–27 September 2015 in Lidköping. This was the eleventh annual Svenska Cupen. Västerås SK won the final 6–2 (1–2) against Edsbyns IF. Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two teams wearing ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. The international governing body for bandy is the Federation of International Bandy (FIB). The playing surface, called a bandy field or bandy rink, is a sheet of ice which measures 90–110 meters by 45–65 meters – about the size of a football pitch. The field is considerably larger than the ice rinks commonly used for ice hockey, rink bandy, or figure skating. The goal cage used in bandy is 3.5 m (11 ft) wide and 2.1 m (6 ft 11 in) high and is the largest one used by any organized winter team sport. Lidköping
Lidköping () is a locality and the seat of Lidköping Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had about 40 000 inhabitants in 2021. It is situated on the southern shore of Lake Vänern and sometimes refers to itself as "Lidköping vid Vänern", to distinguish itself from Linköping near Sweden's east coast. Svenska Cupen (bandy)
Svenska Cupen ( eng, The Swedish Cup), ''Svenska Cupen i bandy'', is a Single-elimination tournament, knockout cup competition in Swedish bandy and the main bandy cup only open for domestic Swedish teams. The first year was 2005 Svenska cupen, 2005, and was won by Edsbyns IF. The first women's edition was played in 2019, and won by Västerås SK Dambandy, Västerås SK. Starting for the second year of the cup, a qualification round was made with matches played at different locations around Sweden in January. The real cup was then played at one location in the beginning of or mid-October. Since bandy is a winter sport with a season from autumn to spring, this meant that the qualification games were played in another season than the final cup was played, which could mean that a qualified club could come to the cup with a team consisting of many other players compared to the qualification round, as players are usually traded during the summer. Västerås SK Bandy is the men's bandy side of the Swedish sports club Västerås SK, located in Västerås. The senior side currently plays in the Swedish Elitserien, the top division of Swedish bandy. Västerås SK BK Dam is the women's bandy side of the Swedish sports club, Västerås SK, which is located in Västerås. This article deals with the men's team. Edsbyns IF
Edsbyns IF, is a bandy team from Edsbyn in Ovanåker Municipality in Sweden founded on 6 June 1909. The bandy section of the club was founded as late as in 1925 was formally made a club of its own on 28 June 2000. Edsbyns IF has played in the highest bandy league in Sweden from 1945–1969 and then again since 1971. History Edsbyns IF was founded in 1909. In September 2003, Edsbyn moved to Edsbyn Arena, the first indoor arena for bandy in Sweden, and won the Swedish Championship final in the end of the season. Sandvikens AIK (commonly known as SAIK) a sports club in Sandviken, Sweden. The bandy section plays its home games in the Göransson Arena in Sandviken. They play in a black outfit. History Sandvikens AIK was founded on 16 March 1901. Hammarby IF Bandyförening is a Swedish bandy club from Södermalm, Stockholm, a section of the sports club Hammarby IF. Hammarby IF was founded under its present name in 1897 and has been playing bandy since 1905. The club currently play in Elitserien, which is the highest division in Sweden, and has won it twice. History Hammarby IF Bandy is one of the oldest bandy clubs in Sweden, founded in 1905 as a department of sports club Hammarby IF.
