2015 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships
The 2015 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships were held from November 7 to 14 at the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The top two teams from the men's and women's tournaments qualified for the 2016 World Men's Curling Championship and the 2016 Ford World Women's Curling Championship, respectively. Ian "Ice Nut" Palangio (21 November 1972 – 2020) was a Canadian–Australian curler. He represented Australia at four World Curling Championships and was a two-time Pacific Curling Champion. Ma Xiuyue (; born May 21, 1991) is a Chinese curler from Harbin. He won a bronze medal at the 2015 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships and represented China at the 2022 Winter Olympics, skipping the men's curling team. Career Ma represented China twice at the World Junior Curling Championships in 2011 and 2012. On both occasions, his team finished with a 4–5 record. Also in 2011 and 2012, Ma won back-to-back Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Championships. Ma skipped the Chinese team at the 2013 Winter Universiade. Zang Jialiang (; born January 12, 1988, in Harbin, Heilongjiang) is a Chinese curler who trains in Harbin. He made his world championship debut at the 2008 Grand Forks World Championships. Team China achieved their best result to date. In the round robin portion they achieved upset wins over Team Canada and Team Norway. They would finish in third after the round robin and for the first time a men's team from the Pacific region would qualify for the Playoffs.
